JAREL TO GERRISH Book 26, Page 555 Know all men by these presents That I John Fitz Jarreld of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds lawful money to me paid by Joseph Gerrish Junior of Boscawen in the County and State aforesaid Yeoman have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto said Joseph Gerrish Junior his heirs and assigns forever several tracts and parcels of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid containing as follows viz five house or home lots so called in said Boscawen one be- ing No. 54 and laid out to the original right of Joseph Tappan one being No. 55 and laid out to the original right of Eleazar Fured one No. 56 and laid out to the original right of Joseph Gerrish Junior one being No. 57 and was laid out to the original right of Daniel Richards one being No. 58 and laid out to the original right of Nathanial Knight also about five acres of interval land be the same ore or less being all that part of that interval lot in the upper interval which was laid out to the original right of Jon- athan Sanderson which lies on the northerly side of the highway running through said lot also that forty five acre lot in said Boscawen that was laid out to the original right of Robert Greenough all the aforesaid lots were butted and bounded as may be known the proprietors book of records reference thereto being had. To have and to hold said granted and bargained premises with all the priv- ileges thereto belonging unto him the said Joseph Gerrish, Junior his heirs and assigns forever as an absolute estate of inheritance in fee simple forever. And I the said John Fitz Jarreld for me and my heirs executors and administrators do consent and engage to warrant and defend the same against the lawful claims and demands of all persons whomsoever. CORSER TO JARRELD} Book 23, Pages 464-65 Know all men by these presents That I John Corser of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Husbandman for and in consideration of one hundred and fifty pounds lawful money to me in hand paid before the delivery hereof by John Fitzjerreld of Boscawen in the County and state aforesaid Husbandman have given granted bargained and sold and do by these presents give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said John Jerreld his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Boscawen afore- said containing thirty acres to the same more or less being part of the eight acre lot which was laid out to the original right of Henry Sewall on the north side of said lot and bounded as followeth viz: beginning at a red birch tree being the northwest corner of said lot then east seventeen degrees north without any allowance for variation of compass since the lot was first laid out one hundred and sixty rods to a stake and stones about six feet north of a large white pine stump thence south seventeen degrees east by the end of said lot thirty rods then west seventeen degrees with one hundred and sixty rods to the westerly end of said lot Then northerly by the end of said lot thirty rods to the bounds first mentioned. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with the priv- ileges to the same appertaining unto him the said John Fitz Jerreld his heirs and assigns forever as an absolute state of inheritance in fee simple forever. Moreover I the said John Corser for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do covenant and engage to warrant secure and defend the same to the said John Fitz Jarreld his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim and demand of any person or persons whomsoever. CALEF TO JARRELD} Book 64, Page 560 Know all men by these Presents That I, Moses Calef of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Husbandman for an in consideration of the sum of Five pounds L M to me in hand before delivery hereof, well and truly paid by John Jarrald of Boscawen in the County and State aforesaid Husbandman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge given, granted, bargained, sold, and by these pre- sents do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey, and confirm, unto the said John Jarreld his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land in the town of Boscawen containing fifteen ... of land be the same or less bounded as followeth viz. beginning at the south cast comes of said lot thence Eastwardly by the line of said lot the high way thence Northerly by the high way to the eighty acre lot laid out to the right of Wellsby Feavor thence southerly by the end of said lot to the south east comes of said eight acre lot thence westerly by the side of the said lot forty seven rods to the north west comes of said fort five acre lot thence by the end of said lot fifty two rods to the bounded first mentioned being part of the forty five acre lot which was laid out to Jacob Pillsbury. To Have and to hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said John Jarreld his heirs and assigns, to his and their only proper use and benefit forever. GEREL TO SENTER} Book 74, Pages 566-68 Know all men by these Presents, That I John Gerald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to me in hand before delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Ebene- zer Senter Gentleman of Boscawen County and State aforesaid. The Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained, sold, and by these Presents do give, grant, bargain, Sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and Confirm, unto the said Ebenezer Senter his heirs and assigns forever A certain piece of land lying in Boscawen it being a part of the forty five acre Lot laid out to the original Right ... Jacob Pillsbury bounded as follows Easterly on the Road leading from Boscawen to Hopkinton Northerly on John Corser Juniors Land Southerly on land owned by Mr. Smith continuing fifteen acres be the same more or less and it being the westerly end of said Lot. To Have and To Hold the said granted premises,with all the Priv- ileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Ebenezer Senter his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever. And I the said John Gerald my heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant, grant, and agree to and with the said Ebenezer Senter his heirs and assigns, that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises, and am seized and possessed thereof in my own right in fee simple,and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid; that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever. And that my heirs, executors and administrators, shall and will warrant the same to the Ebenezer Senter his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demand of any person or persons whomsoever. EASTMAN TO GERRALD} Book 130, page 346 Know all men by these Presents That I Meriner P. Eastman of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Cooper for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand before delivery hereof well and truly paid by John Gerald of Boscawen aforesaid Gentleman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have give granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell assign enfieff convey and confirm unto the said John Gerald his heirs and assigns forever two parcels of land in Boscawen afore- said the first parcel containing all the land which Edward Gerald of said Boscawen deceased devised to his son Samuel Gerald by his last will and test- ament lying on the west side of black water River the second parcel contains about three fourths of an acre of land which Samuel Gerald bought of Daniel Woodman with the buildings thereon as will appear by his deed to the said Samuel Gerald dated January 30th 1819 and is recorded Vol. 122 Page 158 - excepting and reserving however a privilege of John Gerald to cut and Draw wood for the use of his mother from whom the parcel of land first mentioned according to the will of said Edward Gerald above mentioned To Have and To hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said John Gerald and his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever, And I the said Meriner P. Eastman and my heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Gerald and his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises and am seized and profited thereof in my own right in fee simple and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever and that I and my heirs and executors and Administrators shall and will warrant the same to him the said Gerald and his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demand of any person or person whomsoever. CORSER TO GERRIL} Book 57, Page 507 Know all men by these presents That I Samuel Corser of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough & State of New Hampshire, a Gentleman for and in Consideration of the sum of five hundred Dollars to me in hand, before the Delivery hereof, well and truly paid by John Gerril of said Boscawen in the County & State aforesaid Yeoman - The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargain- ed, sold and by these presents do give grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfieff, convey and confirm, unto the said John Gerril his heirs and assigns forever, a Certain tract or parcel of Land situated in said Boscawen being a part of the eighty acre Lot laid out to the Original right of Henry Swett bounded as follows namely beginning easterly thirty rods from long street running southerly on the road leading to Hopkington thirty rods carrying an even breadth as said Lot runs Westerly ... being a parallel line of said [unreadable] containing about thirty acres be the same more or less .. it being the piece of land that my honored father gave me reserving four rods of Lands for a buying place to have and to hold the said granted privileges With all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said John Gerrill his heirs and assigns, to his and their only proper use and benefit forever, And I the said Samuel Corser for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do hereby Covenant, grant and agree, to and with the said John Gerril his heirs and assigns, that until the delivery hereof I am the rightful Owner of the Said granted premises, am [unreadable] thereof in my own right, in fee simple, and have full power and lawful authority to grant and Convey the same in manner aforesaid; that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever; And that my heirs Ex- ecutors and administrators shall and will Warrant the same to the said John Gerril his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whomsoever. GERRILL TO STRAW} Book 64, Page 559 Know all men by these presents that I John Gerrill of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and state of New Hampshire Yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds lawful money well and truly paid by Charles Straw of Boscawen in the State and County aforesaid Yeoman the receipt whereof I have given granted sold and by these presents .... give grant sell convey confirm unto the said Charles Straw his heirs and assigns forever eighty acres of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid being the same more or less be- ing that eighty acre lot in said Boscawen that was laid out to the original right of Moses Smith Numbered and bounded as by the proprietors book of Records may full appear reference thereunto being had. To the Sheriff of any County in this State or his Deputy Greeting, Whereas John Gerald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough, husbandman by the consideration of our Justices of our Superior Court of Judicature, holden at Hopkinton for and within our County of Hillsborough on the third Tuesday of April Anno Domini, 1821 recovered Judgment against Mehitable Gerald of Boscawen aforesaid, single woman for the sum of One hundred ninety five Dollars debt or damages and six Dollars ninety two cents, cost of suit, as to us appears of Record whereof Execution remains to be done: We command you, therefore that of the Goods Chattels or Lands of the said Mehitable within your precinct, you cause to be paid and satisfied unto the said John at the Value thereof in Money, the aforesaid sums being Two hun- dred one Dollars ninety two cents in the whole with 17 cents more for this Writ; and thereof also to satisfy yourself for your own fees. And for want of Goods, Chattels, or Lands of the said Mehitable to be by him shewn unto you, or found within your precinct, to the acceptance of the said John to satisfy the sums aforesaid, we command you to take the body of the said Meh- itable and her commit unto either of Gaols within your precinct and detain in our custody within our said Gaol until she pay the full sums above men- tioned, with your fees, or that she be discharged by the said John Creditor, or otherwise by order of Law. Hereof fail not; and make return of this Writ, with your doings therein, unto our said Superior Court of Judication to be holden at Amherst in our County of Hillsborough aforesaid, on the first Tuesday of April next. F French, Clerk Hillsborough County May 12th, 1821 pursuant to the within precept I have levied and extended this Execution on a tract or parcel of land lying and situate in Boscawen in said County of Hillsborough shewn to me by said John Gerald the Creditor as the property of the said Mehitable Gerald the Debtor in manner following to wit Benjamin Sweatt appointed and chosen by John Gerald the Creditor, Joseph County 2nd was appointed and chosen appraiser by the said Mehitable Gerald the debtor and John Stevens was appointed and chosen appraiser on my part all reputable freeholders and residents in said County and I have on this 7th day of June AD 1821 notified the said Benjamin Sweatt, Joseph Couch 2nd and John Stevens of the appointment aforesaid and have caused them to go before Benjamin Little Esquire on the of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County to be sworn as appraisers aforesaid agreeably to Law. Kelly, Deputy Sheriff of said County as the property of the said Mehitable Gerald the Debtor bounded as follows t with beginning at a Stake and stones at the south west corner of John Stevens' land on the highway thence easterly on said Stevens' land to Blackwater river thirty four rods thence southerly on said Blackwater river to Land of Benjamin Sweatt thence westerly on said Sweatts land twenty two rods to the highway to a stake and stones, thence northerly on said highway forty four rods to bounds first mentioned being six acres and one third of an acre at the sum of One hundred and one Dollars and thirty four cents and hereby set off the same and to the said John Gerald to hold to him and his heirs in part satisfaction of this Execution with officers fees and incidental charges of levying the same. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and sold and by these Presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Sweatt his heirs and assigns forever A certain Tract of land sit- uate in said Boscawen and bounded and described as follows viz Beginning at a stake and stones at the northeasterly side of Blackwater river near the new Bridge on the highway thence up said river till it strikes said Sweatt's land at a stake and stones thence Easterly by and on the line of said Sweatt's land to the aforesaid highway thence by said highway to the bounds first mentioned containing six acres more or less and being all of the lands I own Easterly of said river and being part of a lot drawn to the right of Richard Hall Jr. Also all the water privileges in said River and against the land I sold to Ebenezer Price. Fellows of said Boscawen Joiner jointly. the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said John Stevens and James S. Fellows and their heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of land situate in said Boscawen containing ten acres more or less and lying n the west side of Blackwater river being all the land I bought of David Gerrald reference is had to said deed for the bounds. Fellows and their heirs and assigns to them and their only proper use and benefit forever. Nevertheless it is to be considered the condition of the foregoing deed is such that if the John Gerrald and his heirs executors and administrators shall well and truly pay unto the said John Stevens and James S. Fellows or their heirs and assigns a note of hand dated with these presents for one hundred and thirteen dollars with interest payable to James S. That I John Gerrald of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire Gentleman, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me in hand before delivery hereof well and truly paid by Pelatiah Gookin of Boscawen aforesaid Clothier The receipt whereof I do hereby ack- nowledge have given granted bargained sold and conveyed by these presents do give grant, bargain, delivery enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Pelatiah Gookin and his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land situate in said Boscawen containing three fourths of an acre of land by measure an bounded as follows viz Beginning a stake & stone standing on the east side of the highway eighteen rods from the river near Sweatt's Mill-dam which is the northwest corner bound of land now owned by said Pelatiah thence northerly by the highway eight rods to a stake and stones thence Eastwardly a right angle with the highway then rods to a stake & stones thence southerly parallel with the highway sixteen rods to a stake & stones thence westerly five rids to the southeast corner of land owned by said Gookin thence by said Gookin's land to the bound first mentioned being part of the hundred acre lot laid & drawn to the original right of Richard Hale and is part of the homestead farm devised to me in the last Will & testament of the late Edward Gerrald of Boscawen deceased. To Have and To hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Pelatiah Gookin and to his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever. Weeks of said Boscawen Cooper the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these Presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto to the said J. Weeks and his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land with the buildings thereon standing bounded as follows viz, begin- ning at the southeast corner of [unreadable] and said John Gerrald bought of Mariner Eastman at a stake and stones by the road thence running north- westerly on the road thirteen rods to stake and stones thence southerly to a stake and stones on Isaac Sweatts line thence by said Isaac Sweatt and John S. Stevens lands to the first mentioned bound containing just one and a half acres by measure situated in said Boscawen. Shattuck and his heirs and assigns forever, a certain piece or parcel of land situated in said Boscawen aforesaid and being a part of the divided hundred lot drawn to the original right of Jon- athan Sampson containing six acres and one third of an acre be the same more or less and bounded as follows viz, Beginning at the southwest corner bound of land owned by John Stevens by the highway thence running southerly by the highway to land of Benjamin Sweatt thence easterly by said Benjamin Sweatts land to Blackwater River, so called thence northerly bysaid river to said John Stevens land, thence westerly by said Stevens land to the bound first mentioned. WOODMAN TO GERALD} Book 122, Page 158 Know all men by these Presents, That I Daniel Woodman of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire, Blacksmith for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred & fifty Dollars to me in hand before delivery hereof well and truly paid by Samuel Gerrald of the aforesaid Boscawen labourer and a miner under the age of twenty one years - The receipt whereof have given granted bargained sold and by these Presents give grant bargain sell alien [unread- able] convey and confirm unto the said Samuel Gerrald and to his heirs and assigns forever A certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in Boscawen aforesaid containing about three quarters of an acre be the same more or less in the lot drawn to the original Right of Richard Hale bounded and described as follows viz Southerly by land owned by Ebenezer Burbank and westwardly by land will to said Samuel Gerald by his father Edward Gerrald deceased and northerly by the highway leading from Sweats mills to the bridge near Dodges mills containing all the land said Woodman lot of John S. Stevens and Ebenzer Burbank with the buildings on the same Reference to Said Steven's and Burbank's deeds being had. To Have and To Hold the [unreadable] granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Samuel and to his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever and I the said Daniel Woodman and my executors and administrators do hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Samuel and to his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises and that I [unreadable] thereof in my own right in fee simple and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever and that I myself and my heirs executors and admin- istrators shall and will warrant the same to him the said Samuel Gerrald and to his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whomsoever. GERALD TO EASTMAN Book 127, Page 415 Know all men by these Presents, That I Samuel Gerald of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough and State of New Hampshire yeoman For and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty [unreadable, possibly scratched out] to me in hand before the delivery hereof well and truly paid by Mariner P. Eastman of Boscawen, aforesaid Cooper - The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and hold and by these presents do give grant bargain full a lien [unreadable] convey and confirm unto the said Eastman his heirs and assigns forever two parcels of land in Boscawen aforesaid the first parcel contains all the land which my father Edward Gerald deceased devised to me by his last will and testament lying on the west side of Blackwater river The second parcel contains about three fourths of an acre of land which I bought of Daniel Woodman with the buildings thereon as will appear by his deed to me dated January 30, 1819 and is recorded in the Registry of deeds in the County of Hillsborough Vol. 122 page 158. Excepting and reserving however a privilege to John Gerald to cut and draw wood for the use of his mother from the parcel of land first mentioned according to the will of the said Edward Gerald above mentioned To Have and to Hold the said granted [unreadable] with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Eastman and his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and benefit forever and I the said Samuel Gerald and my heirs executors and administrators do hereby cov- enant grant and agree to and with the said Eastman and his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises and am [unreadable] and profits thereof in my own right in fee simple and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid; that the said premises are free and clear of all and every Incumbrance whatsoever and that I and my heirs executors and administrators shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said Eastman and his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whomsoever. GERRALD TO GERRALD} Book 130, Pages 344-46 Know all men by these Presents That I Samuel Gerrald of Boscawen in the county of Hillsborough and State of Newhampshire, husbandman for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand before delivery hereof well and truly paid by John Gerrald of Boscawen aforesaid Gentleman. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and assign [unreadable] convey and confirm unto said John Gerald his heirs and assigns forever, two parcels of land in Bos- cawen aforesaid the first parcel contains all the land which Edward Gerald of said Boscawen deceased to me the said Samuel Gerrald devised by his last will and testament lying on the west side of Blackwater river. DAY TO GERRILL} Book 125, Page 162-3 Know all Men by these presents, That I Asa Day of Lebenon in the County of Grafton and State of New Hampshire yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen Dollars to me in hand, before delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Thomas Gerrill of Boscawen in the County of Hillsborough in the State of New Hampshire, Gentleman and minor under twenty one years of age, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted bargained, sold, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said Thomas Gerrill his heirs and assigns, forever, a certain piece or parcel of land situate in Boscawen aforesaid and being a part of the hundred acre lot laid out to the original right of Richard Hale and bounded as follows [unreadable], beginning at the southwest corner bound of land Edward Gerril bought of Samuel Davis reference to said deed being had for said bound, thence northerly by land of Isaac Sweatt to the north line of the lot to stake and stones, thence eastward by the line of the lot to said Thomas Gerrill's land to stake and stones, thence south- erly by said Thomas Gerrill's land to the bound first mentioned - containing about four acres more or less - To have and to hold the said granted pre- mises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said Thomas Gerrill and his heirs and assigns, to his and their only proper use and benefit forever And I the said Asa Day and my heirs, executors, and administrators, do hereby covenant, grant, and agree, to and with the said Thomas and his heirs and assigns that until the delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the said premises, and am [unreadable] and possessed thereof in my own right in fee simple, and have full power and lawful authority to grant and convey the same in manner aforesaid, that the said premises are free and clear of all and every incumbrance whatsoever; and that I and his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any person or persons whomsoever - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.
