Draper 1917-1922 It is available at the New Hampshire Historical Society. W. 1742 BLWt. New Hampshire Service April 20, 1818 Benjamin Fifield of Salisbury, New Hampshire, deposed: that he enlisted in February 1776 for one year under Capt. James Osgood, Col. Timothy Bedel and was regularly discharged at Saratoga, New York in February, 1777. Benjamin Fifield June 23, 1819 Daniel Young of Warren, New Hampshire, testified to service in same company with soldier (then of Concord but now of Salisbury) until November, 1776 when deponent was discharged on account of lameness, leaving Fifield in the company. Daniel Young June 21, 1819 John Townsend, " one of the Selectmen of Salisbury," testified to soldier's need of pension; as did Benjn. Pettengill Jr. of Salisbury. April 20, 1818 Jonathon Bean, of Salisbury, had testified to same effect. June 22, 1819 Ezra Abbot of Concord, New Hampshire, testified to service with soldier in 1776; "that they messed together and were discharged at the same time." Ezra Abbot Claim allowed. July 11, 1820 Benjamin Fifield of Salisbury, 65 years of age, testified that he has a wife, 52 years of age; two twin boys, 18; daughter, 15; and daughter 12 years in his family; that he "was not in any engagement on account of being taken as prisoner where I suffered severely." Pension continued. June 17, 1850 Susanna Fifield of Porter County, Indiana, 80 years of age, deposed: that she is the widow of Benjamin Fifield, Revolutionary Pensioner, who died at Grafton, New Hampshire, April 15, 1824; and that she was married to him at Enfield, New Hampshire, October 5, 1797. Signed by mark, in presence of William C. Talcott, Judge of Probate. Same day Rachel Curran of Porter County, Indiana, testified that she was present at the marriage of Benjamin Fifield and Susanna Choate, at Enfield, New Hampshire. Signed by mark. June 17, 1850 Susanna Fifield appointed G. N. Fitch her attorney. (Hon. Graham N. Fitch, M. C. at that time from Indiana). Claim allowed and Certificate 598, Indiana Agency, was issued June 27, 1850, Act of July 29, 1848. April 20, 1855 Susannah Fifield of Porter County, Indiana, 85 years of age, applied for Bounty land. Thomas H. Fifield and Calista Fifield certified to her identity. Application granted and BLWt 14988 was issued Jan. 29, 1856, Act of March 3, 1855.
