KENISTON,* a well known and popular citizen of New Market, where he is engaged in business as painter and decorator was born in this town, October 19, 1869, a son of Charles and Elizabeth (Thomp- son) Keniston. Both his parents are now deceased. Mr. Keniston was edu- cated in the public schools of New Market, and subsequently learned the trade of painter and decorator, at which he became very expert, and which he has since followed as his regular business, having been engaged in it, including the period of his apprenticeship, since he was fourteen years of age. He has an extensive patronage and many fine specimens of his work may be seen in and around New Market. Mr. Keniston is unmarried. He resides in the old parental homestead, in which he was born, and of which he is the owner. His society affiliations are with the Sons of Vererans, as his father served gal- lantly in the Civil War.
