Feb 18, 1899, page 12: The funeral of Danile Connor will be held at 2 O'Clock tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon with public services at St. Joseph Cathedral at 2:30. Feb 20, 1899, page 4: Daniel Connor, Last services over the body of a well known citizen. The last rites were read over the body of the late Daniel Connor at St. Joseph Cathedral yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by the Rt Rev, Bishop 'Denis M. Bradley, and the interior of the ediface was crowded to the doors with friends and family of the dead man. The funeral cortage left the residence on Maple St at 2:30 O'Clock and a long line of carriages followed the body to the cathedral where the services were conducted at 3 O'Clock. The bearers of honor were Mayor William C. Clarke, Senator Joseph P. Chatel, Insurance Commissioner JOhn Lenehan, Joseph Quirin, Roger G. Sullivan, E. M. Toplliff, and John Hayes. The carriers were John Connor, Frederick Martine, John Hurley, Thomas Landrigan, Joseph Boudrequ, John Quinn. The plate was engraved in Old English letters and was of solid silver metal. The Cortage consisting of the honorary bearers, the casket and carriers, an escort consisting of a delegation of members of the NH Catholic club, of which the dead man was a member and the famly, moved down the center aisle of the ediface while from the organ the mournful notes of Chopins funeral prelude issued forth. The Rt Rev Bishop in his remarks took for his text: Man Knoweth Not His End, the living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more. Neither have they a reward any more for the memory of them is forgotten. At the conclusion of the bishops sermon the choir chanted the "Libera me Domine" and Mozarts "Redemption Mundi Deus" was rendered by Ed Thompson. After the services the casket containing the body was taken by carriers and the cortage moved down the aisle to Handels funeral march from Saul was played by Miss Sowdon who officiated at the organ. Pine St on either side was completely blocked with friends and sympathizers of the bereaved family and large crowds gathered about the different thoroughfares through which the funeral procession passed. Dr. J. F. Dowd was the funeral director and interment was in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery. Nearly 100 carriages followed the body to the grave where the last prayers of the church were read by Rev. Fr. McGill. The floral offerings, which were numerours and beautiful, included the following: Ivy plaque on easel with portrait of the deceased in a wreath from family; Lyre with broken string from Michael Connor and family; pillow "brother & uncle" from Mrs. Lawrence Dowd and family; double cluster of hyacinths from Mrs S. A. Bates and family; standing cross with broken wreath from James Kirby and family; flat cross from John Hayes; harp with broken string from John Bryson and family; standing crescent from James Charmley and family; broken wreath and sicle marked "friend" from C. A. O'Connor and family; standing crescent and star on base of roses from business tenants; bouquiet of hyacinths from P. F. Kearns and family; Ivy wreath from Mr and Mrs M. F. Sherry; lyre with broken string "our friend" on base from friends and employees of True W. Jones Brewing Co; bouquet of hyacinths from Joseph Hayes; anchor from Katherines classmates; basket from Mr and Mrs T. F. Landregan; wreath from True W. Jones family; anchor from office staff of Ture W. Jones Co, F. Brandwiede, John H Hayes and Thos. Dalton; bouquet of roses from Mr and Mrs M. J. Healy; broken column from William McPhearson'; standing wreath from Alpheus and L. H. Bodwell; mound from P. Harrington family; bouquet of hyacinths Mr and Mrs Michael Lyons; harp with broken strings from "friends. In attendence from out of town were noticed Mr nd Mrs S. A. Bartes from Suncook; Col. John C.
