O'Donnell LOWELL, Mass. - Catherine Paula "Polly" O'Donnell, 51, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Lowell, the daughter of the late James F. and Mary Catherine (Casey) O'Donnell. She summered in Rye for many years. She attended the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, Mass., and was a 1967 graduate of Lowell High School and a graduate of Marymount College, Arlington, Va. Miss O'Donnell was the director of contracting for Franciscan Children's Hospital in Boston. She was previously the director of managed care contracting for Puritan Insurance in Brighton, Mass., a flight attendant for Pan American World and Delta Airlines and a model for the Ford Modeling Agency in New York City. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church; a member of the Junior League of Boston; the Catholic College Club of Lowell; the Guild of the Infant Savior; and Vesper Country Club. She was an extensive traveler and had visited six continents and more than 25 countries. She enjoyed reading and tennis. She is survived by two sisters, M. Patricia Crane of Lowell and Margaret J. Lawlor of Connecticut; one brother, James F. O'Donnell Jr. of Lowell; four nieces and three nephews; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 276 Pawtucket St., Lowell, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
