Lillian J. Patnaude 

SALISBURY, Mass. - Lillian J. Patnaude, 81, of 36 Beach Road, died Monday, 
Oct. 30, 2000, at the Brigham Manor in Newburyport, Mass. 

She was born March 6, 1919, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of the late 
Alfred and Margaret (Poirier) Jacquelle and had been a longtime resident of 
Salisbury. 

Mrs. Patnaude, known as "Diamond Lil," worked at the Bowery, the Normandy and
the Carousel, all at Salisbury Beach for many years. 

She was known as an independent woman and a true feminist. 

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Dow and her husband Russell of 
Salisbury and Sandra Maloney of Newburyport; four grandchildren; one 
great-granddaughter; one sister, Constance Proulx of Hampstead; and several 
nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Simplicity Burial & Cremation 
Services, Newburyport. Burial was in Long Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.
