Claire E. Flagg 

HAMPSTEAD - Claire E. (Barthelmess) Flagg, 82, of 20 Shore Road, died 
Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in Hale Hospital, Haverhill, Mass. 

She was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Revere, Mass., the daughter of the late Walter
and Marcella (Hayes) Barthelmess, and had resided in Hampstead for 31 years. 

She was a graduate of Revere High School. 

She was a member of St. Anne Church, Hampstead; the Sunset Lake Association,
Hampstead, and the Park Place Bowling League of Salem. 

The widow of Stanley E. Flagg, who died in 1997, she is survived by one 
daughter and her husband, Marsha L. and Jean Paul Downs of Glencliff; one son
and his wife, Bryan E. and Linda Flagg of Warren; one granddaughter; and one
great-granddaughter. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday in St. Anne Church, 
Hampstead. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, Mass. 

Arrangements were by the C. Frank Linnehan & Son Funeral Home, Haverhill.
