Allen HAMPTON - Evelyn G. Allen, 93, of 236 Drakeside Road, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at the Seacoast Health Center. A lifelong resident of Hampton, she was born here April 9, 1907, one of 11 children, the daughter of the late John H. and Hulda (Pearson) Davis. Her ancestors settled Bride's Hill in Hampton. She attended the United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Tide Mill Chapter No. 67 O.E.S., but her greatest achievement was the love and kindness she gave to her family. She was the wife of the late Carl Edward Allen, who died in 1987. Family members include three daughters, Caroline Bates of Hampton, Marion Scaggs of Venice, Fla., and Lois Page of Hampton; one brother, John H. Davis of Gooding, Idaho; seven grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Private services were held Thursday at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. The Rev. Dr. Wilbert D. Gough officiated. Jean Goss was organist. Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery with committal service conducted by the Rev. Gough. Pallbearers were James Bates, Charles Scaggs, Alan Scaggs, Howard Page III, Carl Page, Jason Page, Nathan Page and Howard Page IV.
