Price IPSWICH, Mass. - James S. Price, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Norfolk, Va., following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late Louis and Florrie (Berryman) Price. He was a graduate of Topsfield (Mass.) public schools and Burdett College, Lynn. Mr. Price owned and operated the former James S. Price American Motors dealership in Topsfield, Mass. He was a longtime member of the First Church in Ipswich; the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge AF&AM of Ipswich; the Aleppo Shrine, Boston; and was a charter member of the Ipswich Outboard Club. He enjoyed power boating, fishing, clamming, dancing, singing, playing the organ and his seasonal trips to Florida. The widower of Virginia (Scotton) Price, his wife of 58 years, he is survived by one son and his wife, James S. and Valdean Price Jr. of Epping; one daughter, Sara Lee Price of Ipswich; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Callahan of Topsfield; two sisters-in-law, Vera Horsman and Marietta Wilding-White, both of Ipswich; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Bertha MacKay. Funeral services were held Saturday in the First Church in Ipswich. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church in Ipswich, Meetinghouse Green, Ipswich, MA 01938.
