Gomez APTOS, Calif. - Norma Farnham Gomez died November 10, 2000, at a daughter's home where she had resided for the past 1 1/2 years. She was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Exeter, the daughter of the late George E. and Lucy (Lamprey) Farnham and had resided in California since 1960. Mrs. Gomez was retired from the Bank of America, San Rafael, Calif. She had previously been employed by Electric Boat Division, General Dynamics Corp. in Groton, Conn., and was present at the 1960 launching of the Thresher, the first of it's class of nuclear submarines. The widow of Ramon Gomez, who died in 1992, she is survived by five daughters, Judith Bledsoe of Linden, Tex., Pamela Hunt of Aptos, Norma Jean Mooney of Windsor, Calif., Valerie Patten of Aptos, and Marcia McDonnell of Mystic, Conn.; one son, Ramon Gomez of Medford, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Winton of Ventura, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Private memorial services were held November 11, 2000, at the home of Valerie Patten in Aptos, with Chaplain Savearna Wiley officiating.
