Day MELROSE, Mass. - Robert E. Day, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after a brief illness. He was born in Gardner, Mass., the son of the late Milford C. and Elida (Eiliasen) Day and had resided in Melrose for 19 years. He was a summer resident of Nottingham. Mr. Day was a superintendant and chief engineer at Cambridge Electric Light Co. for several years. He was a 50-year member of the Mt. Vernon Lodge of Masons. The widower of Alma C. (Seavey) Day, he is survived by one daughter and her husband, Catharine E. and David Parsons of Westville, Conn.; three sisters, Roberta C. Steinmetz of Lynnwood, Wash., Marilyn M. Chartrand of Glen Burnie, Md., and Marie A. Kirby of Barnstable, Mass.; two brothers, George E. Day of Richardson, Tex., and Gerald W. Day of Fiskdale, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Robinson Funeral Home, Melrose. Memorial donations may be made to the Sumner Redston Burn Center, c/o Development Office, Mass.
