Carr EPPING - Alfred Warren Carr, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Rockingham County Nursing Home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1923, at the nursing home, the son of Alfred and Bessie M. (Wentworth) Carr. After leaving Laconia State School as a young man, he made his own way working as a farmhand at Wagon Hill Farm in Durham and later at the Harvey Farm in Epping. He was devoted to farming. Graveside services will be held in the Harvey Family Cemetery, Epping. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping. Portsmouth Herald (issue 12/27/00) Alfred Warren Carr EPPING - Alfred Warren Carr, 77, of Epping, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in the caring hands of friends and staff at Rockingham County Nursing Facility. Born on July 18, 1923, he was the son of Bessie M. Wentworth and Alfred Carr. After leaving Laconia State School as a young man, he made his own way working as a farmhand. He spent many years at Wagon Hill Farm in Durham. When the proprietor died in the mid-1960s, he moved on to the Harvey Farm in Epping. He was devoted to cows and enjoyed farm life in general. With the help of many friends, he bravely dealt with cancer, never complained and passed peacefully on Christmas Eve. CARR - Alfred Warren Carr, 77, of Epping, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000. There will be no calling hours. A small graveside service will be held at the Harvey family cemetery.
