Born in York, he was the son of Carl and Anita Dennett. He graduated from York High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1974. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1978 with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He worked for most of the last 22 years as a computer networking specialist for SUBMEPP at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and also a member of the Sons of the American Legion of York. He enjoyed the outdoors, his home and family, birds, electronics and woodworking. He married Diana L. Workman in Portsmouth on June 15, 1983. He was predeceased by his father, Carl A. Dennett, in 1990. Surviving are his wife, Diana; his daughter, Jeannette of Houston; his son, Mark of Portsmouth, N.H.; his mother, Anita of York; his brothers, William L. of York, and John S. of North Berwick; his sisters, Ann E. Greene of Ashburnham, Mass., and Jean E. Dennett of Gardner, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours scheduled. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to The Alan Carl Dennett Educational Scholarship Trust, P.O.
