Jones Sr. MADBURY - Albert H. Jones Sr., 83, formerly of Hayes Road, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Riverside Rest Home, Dover, where he had resided for the past three years. Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Durham, he was the son of Henry and Eulie (Danforth) Jones. Raised in Durham, he lived in Madbury from 1979 to 1996. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps. He was a construction foreman and was last employed with Midway Excavating in South Hampton. He was the husband of the late Florence (Burrows) Jones, who died in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Albert Jones Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., Richard Jones of Murphy, N.C., and Gregory Jones of Stratham; two daughters, Sharon Coughlin of Center Barnstead, and Sheila Fernald of Madbury; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket, followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring in the Durham Cemetery. Family flowers only.
