Frizzell of Groveton, died early on Tuesday morning at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. from the Groveton United Methodist Church, with Reverend Charles Davis officiating. A full obituary will appear in next week's paper. (Issue of December 6, 2000) ___________________________________________________________________________ BERNARD FRIZZELL Bernard A. Frizzell, 75, of Groveton, died early on Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on June 13, 1925 in Canaan, he was the son of Alpheus B. and Catharine (Martin) Frizzell. He has been a resident of Groveton since 1957. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a graduate of Colebrook Academy, class of 1943, and a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed dairy farmer before retiring from farming in 1983. He owned the Frizzhome Farm from 1957 until selling the farm to Gordon and Nancy Gray in 1990. Mr. Frizzell sang in the church choir, and for funerals and weddings. He was a member of the Groveton Trailblazers, groomed trails and loved snowmachining. He was a life member of the American Legion, Post #17 in Groveton; a past president of the Coös County Farm Bureau; past member of the DHIA; past board member of the ASCS, the SCD and the New Hampshire Agricultural Committee. He was a past member of the 4-H Dairy advisory committee. He was the 1963 Dairyman of the year for the Green Pastors of New Hampshire and a past member of the North Star Grange. Mr. Frizzell is survived by his wife of 54 years in January, Marion (Stearns) Frizzell of Groveton; three sons, Leon Frizzell of Champaign, Ill., Howard Frizzell of Bedford and Larry Frizzell of Dover; a daughter, Nancy Newton of Rochester; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Emily Floyd of Farmington, Maine, Marion Anderson of Londonderry and Dorothy Ducret of Colebrook; a brother, Clarence Frizzell of Colebrook; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald A. Frizzell in 1990; three brothers, Martin, Wilfred and Edwin Frizzell; and a sister, Marjorie O¹dell. Calling hours were held on Thursday, December 7 at the Main-Armstrong Funeral Home in Groveton, with military services that evening. A memorial service was held on Friday at the Groveton United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Charles Davis, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery.
