Wojnar PORTSMOUTH - Bernadette E. Wojnar, 83, of 160 Concord Way, passed away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, after a period of failing health. Born May 31, 1917, in Central Falls, R.I., she was a daughter of Charles and Alice (LaPlante) DeRoy. She grew up and attended schools in Eliot, Maine, and was a graduate of Eliot High School, Class of 1935. After high school she worked at Lanier's in Eliot, the Farragut Hotel and Stoneleigh College in Rye, and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. She moved to Portsmouth in 1951 when she married Stanley M. Wojnar. She was an original member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Survivors include a son, Richard Wojnar, and a daughter, Patricia Wojnar, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Paul A. DeRoy of Eliot, Maine; two sisters-in-law, Germaine DeRoy of Rochester, and Gloria DeRoy of Berwick, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband who died in 1980, she was predeceased by four brothers, Edmund, Omer, Adolph and Joseph DeRoy; and a sister, Beatrice Garceau. WOJNAR - Bernadette E. Wojnar, 83, of 160 Concord Way, Portsmouth, died Dec. 9, 2000. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Visiting hours 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Newmarket.
