Clare Bendich 

WEST STEWARTSTOWN - Clare (Kaufman) Bendich, 86, formerly of New York City, 
died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West 
Stewartstown.

Mrs. Bendich was born on July 6, 1914, in New York City, the daughter of the
late Sam and Minnie (Steinman) Kaufman.

For the first five years of her life, Mrs. Bendich’s primary language was 
Yiddish. She was employed as a school secretary for the New York City Board 
of Education, Public School #75, until her retirement.
Mrs. Bendich is survived by two sons, Dr. Stephen Bendich of New York City,
and Arnie Bendich of Seattle, Wash.; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Bendich was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Bendich.

There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are under the 
direction of Jenkins Funeral Home, Colebrook.
