Dow HAMPTON - Charlotte M. Dow, 87, of 777 Lafayette Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000 at her residence in the Partridge House. She was born Feb. 16, 1913 in Seabrook, the daughter of the late Samuel J.T. and Lydia J. "Janey" (Knowles) Eaton. She resided most of her life in Seabrook, moving to Hampton two years ago. Mrs. Dow was a 1930 graduate of the former Hampton Academy High School and a 1932 graduate of the Keene Normal School. Mrs. Dow taught school for 42 years in several Seabrook schools, including the South School (1933-1945), the Locke School (1947-1949), the Dearborn Academy (1949-1952), the Sanborn School (1952-1955) and the Seabrook Elementary School from 1955 until her retirement in 1975. She was a charter member of the Seabrook Historical Society and served 25 years on the Executive Committee. She was also a member of the former Goodwill Grange, the Hampton Falls Grange and the East Rockingham Pomona Grange, the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Auxiliary Unit #70 and was a member of the Eight and Forty Salon #264. Mrs. Dow enjoyed painting and writing poetry. In 1962 she authored "A Unit on the Town of Seabrook," a town history, published by the Seabrook PTA. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
