David Scott Packard 

DOVER - David Scott Packard, 62, of 113 Durham Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 
2000, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. 

Born in Rutland, Vermont, on March 30, 1938, he was the son of Stanley Scott 
and Marjorie June (Morse) Packard. He grew up in Portsmouth where he 
graduated from St. Patrick's School and Portsmouth High School, Class of 
1956. He lived in Richmond, Maine, and moved to Dover 17 years ago. 

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957 and retired after more than 19 years of 
service. He was a member of the Richmond Maine American Legion Post. 

He has worked as a maintenance man for the Fairfield Garden Apartments in 
Dover, and for the past four and a half years he worked for the C.P. 
Management Co. 

He enjoyed doing volunteer work for Pro Portsmouth and Channel 11, New 
Hampshire Public Television, in Durham. He loved being out of doors and also
spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacqueline (Dumais) Packard, of 
Dover; five children and their spouses, Terri Lapoint and her husband, Steve,
of Somersworth; Joyce Beasley and her husband, Bruce, of Richmond, Maine; 
David Packard Jr., and his wife, Kathy, of West Valley, Utah; Kathy Bryson 
and her husband, David, of Auburn; Michael Packard and his wife, Carmen, of 
Stafford, Va.; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Marjorie Packard, of 
Couperville, Wash.; his siblings, Marilyn Carta and her husband, Bill, of 
Yuba City, Calif.; Wayne Packard and his wife, Charlotte, of East Lebanon, 
Maine; Carol Barrett and her husband, Joe, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; Sharon 
Griffin and her husband, George, of Pasadena, Texas; Linda Chisholm and her 
husband, Bob, of Canterbury; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Packard. 

PACKARD - David Scott Packard, 62, of 113 Durham Road, Dover, died Dec. 26, 
2000. There are no calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held at 
11 a.m. on Friday in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery, Greenland Road, 
Portsmouth, with the Rev. Edward J. Kelley, pastor of the Church of the 
Immaculate Conception of Portsmouth, officiating. Friends are invited to 
attend. If desired, donations in his name may be made to the Ronald McDonald 
House, Fairfax, Va. Arrangements are by Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central 
Ave., Dover.
