JOHNSBURY, Vt. - Earl Morey, 73, of Passumpsic village in St. Johnsbury, died at home early on Thursday morning, Dec. 14, 2000, after a lengthy illness. He was born in West Danville, Vt. on Nov. 29, 1927, the son of Bernard and Vera (Bundy) Morey. He and Olive Bolton were married on July 3, 1943. Earl was a Navy veteran of World War II and was twice past commander of VFW Post 793, from 1975-76 and 1978-79, and was also a member of the American Legion Post 58. He worked for Fairbanks for 44 years. Two of his favorite activities were playing cribbage and watching his grandson play baseball. He is survived by his wife, Olive, of Passumpsic; four sons, Henry Aldrich of St. Johnsbury, David of Cartersville, Ga., Richard of Barnet, Vt. and Robert of Lunenburg; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters including Gertrude Goodsell of Wells River, Vt., Carlton Morey of Columbia, S.C., Robert Morey of St. Johnsbury Center, Louis Caswell of Lyndonville, Vt.; Herman Noyes of St. Johnsbury Center, Ronald Noyes of Lyndonville, Helen Dwyer of Lyndonville, Joanne Blaisdell of Lyndonville, Lawrence Noyes of Fairlee, Vt. He was predeceased by a brother, Maynard Caswell, and a sister, Priscilla Fifield.
