Gienty NORTH PORT, Fla. - Francis X. Gienty, 76, formerly of Greenland, N.H., died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at his home. He was born May 21, 1924, son of John and Agnes Gienty. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 25 years, Frances H. (Durant) Gienty. He remarried in 1981, to Claire E. (Brackett) Gienty of Greenland, where they made their home part of the year and spent the winter months in North Port, Fla. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1985. He also served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army in his younger years. He was always lending a helping hand to his neighbors, friends and family when he wasn't pursuing his passion for golf. His wife, Claire; his three daughters, Maureen Jenkins and Charles Morrill of Somersworth, N.H., Maryann Kinard of Euless, Texas, and Kathleen Russo and Leonard of Warwick, R.I., will always remember him with love and fondness. In addition, he is survived by four stepchildren, Nancy Lombardo and her husband, Joe, of Lee, N.H.; Reginald Brackett of Lebanon, Maine; Donald Brackett and his wife, Nancy, of Missouri; and Richard Brackett and his wife, Catina, of Oklahoma; several stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; by two brothers, James and John Gienty of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews. His beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Mayette, Denise Hunter, Michael Nichols, Donald Cuatt and Darci Morrill all have wonderful memories of him. He adored his family and friends, always ready with a quick smile and his easygoing manner. GIENTY - Francis X. Gienty, 76, of North Port, Fla., formerly of Greenland, N.H., died Dec. 3, 2000. There will be a memorial Mass held at 9 a.m., Jan. 6, 2001, at Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer St., Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to his wife, Claire E. Gienty, 6879 Alani Court, North Port, FL 34287; or to any family member. A Mass of celebration will be conducted in the spring of 2001 at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 8, Bedford, NH 03110-5032, in the name of Francis "Frank" X.
