Griffin KINGSTON - George David Griffin Sr., 58, of North Road, died December 7, 2000, at his home after a period of failing health. He was born July 20, 1942, in Melrose, Mass., the son of the late George J. and Jean E. (Babcock) Griffin. He was raised in Melrose and spent several years in Byfield, Mass., before moving to Kingston 29 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Griffin was an auto body mechanic and had operated a mechanic business at his home since 1977. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rita K. (Bailey) Griffin of Kingston; one son, G. David Griffin Jr. of Kingston; one daughter, Samantha Millett of Fremont; four grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Devito and Karen Holmes, both of Exeter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter, with the Rev. Wayne VanGundy officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston.
