Thompson KITTERY, Maine - Gertrude C. Thompson, 86, of 10 Langton St., died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at York Hospital after a long illness. Born Jan. 3, 1914, in Kittery Point, she was the daughter of Frank T. and Ella May (Sawyer) Waldron and attended Traip Academy. She had been employed as a sales clerk and at the lunch counter of Woolworth's in Portsmouth, N.H., for many years. She had also worked in the Traip Academy lunch department for several years. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Kittery and the Rebekahs. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry G. Thompson, who died in 1963; her son, Richard E. Thompson, who died in 1996; and her daughter, Kathleen M. Hersey, who died in 1997. Survivors include one brother, Frank T. Waldron of Kittery; a son-in-law, Nelson Hersey of Kittery, with whom she resided; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. THOMPSON - Gertrude C. Thompson, of Langton Street, Kittery, Maine, died Dec. 24, 2000. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road and U.S. Route 1 Bypass, Kittery. There will be no visiting hours. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to York Hospital, 15 Hospital Drive, York, ME 03909. Gertrude C. Thompson KITTERY, Maine - Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, for Gertrude C. Thompson, 86, of 10 Langton St., Kittery, who died Dec. 24, 2000, at York Hospital. Services were held at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery. Opening and closing prayers as well as kind words of remembrance were offered by her son-in-law, Nelson Hersey. Scriptural readings and other kind words were offered by her family, great-grandson Matthew Payne and Mr. Dale Payne. Other words of remembrance were offered by Dr. Henry Altenberg, a close family friend. The friends and family gathered at Yoken's conference center after the service for a time of refreshment and sharing.
