Ball NORTH STRATFORD - Harold D. Ball, 80, of North Stratford, died suddenly at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000. Mr. Ball was born on May 8, 1920, in East Concord, Vt., the son of the late Douglas Tracy and Kathleen (Adair) Ball. He was self-employed as a farmer, growing green beans, potatoes and Christmas trees, which he sold for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family, which often included telling stories. Mr. Ball is survived by the following family members: a son, Harold Ball Jr. of North Stratford; three daughters, Shirley Sweatt of North Stratford, Donna Peterson of Columbia, and Sharon Poulin of Bloomfield, Vt.; a brother, Milton Adair of Leesburg, Fla.; and two sisters, Myra Sweatt of Columbia and Beatrice Dezan of Sanbornville; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Ball was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine E. (Harding) Ball, who died on Nov. 7, 2000. Funeral services were held on Dec. 31 at the North Stratford First Baptist Church. Larry Clough, licensed minister, officiated. A spring burial will take place in the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the North Stratford Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Josephine Harding, North Stratford, NH 03590.
