Cotter, 88, formerly of Hampton, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000 at the Nutmeg Pavilion in New London, Conn. She was born June 5, 1912 in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Mary E. (Grant) Sliney. Mrs. Cotter resided in St. Petersburg, Fla., from 1954 until 1962. While there, she helped found the Little League in her neighborhood. She previously lived in Milford for more than 40 years where she was employed at the White Elephant Antiques Shop. She was an active member in her community and had been the founding member of the Milford PTA, was an active member of St. Patrick's Church, served on the Milford Educational Foundation, and in 1985, received an award for her volunteer work with the Souhegan Valley Association for the Handicapped. She enjoyed antiques, gardening, children and pets. Mrs. Cotter was predeceased by her husband, Edmond J. Cotter. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen C. Neugent and her husband Robert of Mystic, Conn., and Ann S. Keohan and her husband Peter of Hampton Falls; a son, William Cotter and his wife Liller of Nenana, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Sliney of Bedford; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Saturday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton from 9 to 11 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton.
