Lagasse PLAISTOW - Marie Yvonne (Desilets) Lagasse, 89, a longtime resident of 4 Westville Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill, Mass. She was born in Haverhill and moved to Plaistow at the age of 12. She attended the Moody School, Haverhill, and Pollard School in Plaistow. Mrs. Lagasse was a french cord turner in the local shoe industry for many years, retiring from Ornstein Shoe Co. She was a member of Holy Angels Parish, Plaistow, and the United Shoe Workers of America, AFL-CIO. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid card player who enjoyed cribbage and 45s. The widow of Abel L. Lagasse, who died in 1995, she is survived by two daughters, Joan German and her husband Russell of Haverhill and Norma Trenholm of Merrimac, Mass.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow.
