Born on July 5, 1909 in Bloomfield, Vt., she was the daughter of Evangelist and Olivine (Bergeron) Carrier. She attended local North Stratford schools. She was married to Herbert C. Saunders in October, 1935, and she lived in the North Stratford, Bloomfield area for the rest of her life. While Mr. Saunders worked for the Maine Central Railroad, she was a housewife and a caregiver for several local people. She was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Womenıs Club in North Stratford. Mrs. Saunders enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and sewing. She is survived by two sons, Carl Saunders of North Stratford and Walter Saunders of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Antonio (Anita) LaChance of Douglas, Mass., and Marilyn Yarber of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Armand Carrier of Colebrook; three sisters, Annette Dumont of Colebrook, Lena Connary of Stratford and Dottie Rancourt of West Stewartstown; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Saunders was predeceased by two brothers, Adeleau and Wilfred, and a sister, Irene. Those who wish to make donations in memory of Mrs. Saunders may give to the Stratford Ambulance Corps, c/o Robert Curless, Old Mill Road, Box 64, North Stratford, NH 03590. Calling hours were held at the Newman Funeral Home on Thursday, December 7. Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford on Friday, with Father Dan Deveau officiating. Interment will be in the spring at the Bloomfield cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Newman Funeral Home.
