Born on April 1, 1906, in Nobleboro, she was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Hall Goss and attended local schools. She furthered her education at Gorham Normal School, later teaching math for the Bath school system. She was married in August 1931 to her husband of more than 30 years, John F. Coombs, and settled in Kittery in 1935. She and her husband raised their family in Kittery. She was married to John Goss in 1970. She was active in a number of community programs. She was a sewing leader for the Maine State Extension, teaching many young women how to sew; a past regent of the DAR; and held a number of offices in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Association. As a member of the Second Christian Congregational Church of Kittery, she was a Sunday school teacher. Remembered as a wonderful mother of her generation, she could see, cook and make many of the items used daily around the house and truly enjoyed it. She was predeceased by her husband John F. Coombs in 1963; and her husband John Goss. She is survived by her daughters, Susan and Kenneth McNabb of Kittery, and Jane Packard of Eliot; two grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Avis Keene, and her brother, Ansel Creamer. GOSS - Nancy J. Goss, 94, formerly of 5 Rice Ave., Kittery, Maine, died Dec. 30, 2000. A private service will be held at Orchard Grove Cemetery in the spring. Services are by the J.S.
