Rex Billbrough, USMC (Ret.) 80, the widower of Ruth C. (Leamon) Billbrough, of 320 Ocean Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born in New Lothrop, Mich., on April 25, 1920, he was the son of Floyd and Sylvina A. (Burbridge) Billbrough. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War, retiring in 1954, as a master sergeant drill instructor. He was employed for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an electronic mechanic, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Senior Friends and a member of the World War II Drill Instructors Association 2nd Marine Division. Survivors include his children, Ann O'Keefe of Derwood, Md.; Thomas Billbrough of Danville; and Sandra Dupuis of Barrington; seven grandchildren, Beth O'Keefe, Jennie O'Keefe, Michael O'Keefe Jr., Crystal Barker, Jason Dupuis, Timothy Billbrough, and Thomas Billbrough Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Rebeka Barker; special friend, Patricia Linscott of Kittery, Maine; a brother, Raymond Billbrough of Flint, Mich.; and one niece and one nephew. BILLBROUGH - Master Sgt. Rex Billbrough, USMC (Ret.) 80, of 320 Ocean Road, Portsmouth, died Dec. 26, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth. Friends invited. Visiting hours are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Sgt. Rex Billbrough PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Master Sgt. Rex Billbrough, USMC (Ret.), 80, of 320 Ocean Road, were held at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel on Friday. The Rev. Donald Gum, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, officiated. Words of remembrance were given by grandchildren Beth O'Keefe and Jason Dupuis. In attendance were representatives from the Seacoast Memorial Post No. 8942, VFW of Rye.
