Cella, 91, of 4 Alumni Drive, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Exeter Healthcare. She was born Nov. 28, 1909, in Solon, Maine, the daughter of the late Philip and Loela (Brown) LaCasce. She had resided in Ashland, Mass., for 59 years moving to Hampton in 1996. She was a 1929 graduate of Solon High School and a 1932 graduate of Milford Hospital School of Nursing. She also attended Simmons College, Boston. Mrs. Cella was a registered nurse at Cushing Hospital, Framingham, Mass., for several years. The widow of Joseph A. Cella, who died in 1995, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Byrne and her husband Jerome of Framingham and Joyce Ford of Hampton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Orel and Linwood LaCasce, both of Solon and Linden LaCasce of Virginia; two sisters, Merial Sears of Salem and Eileen Smith of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Vera Hixon, who died in 1999, and a son-in-law, Walter Ford, who died in 1995. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 54 Esty St., Ashland. Burial will be in St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham. Memorial donations may be made to the Framingham Heart Study, 5 Thurber St., Framingham, MA 01902 or to the charity of one's choice.
