Gallant, 71, died on Dec. 9, 2000, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born in Manchester on March 28, 1919, the son of Aubin and Albertine (Houle) Gallant. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Gallant worked for the Donovan Spring Co. for more than 25 years, then covered the North Country for the M&M Trucking Equipment Co., before starting his own Gallant Trucking Equipment Inc. Members of his family include his wife, Patricia (Aher) Gallant of Auburn; three daughters, Susan Pelton of Pembroke, Gail Gallant of Manchester, and Laurie Beaumont of Hooksett; a step-son, James Cross of South Royalton, Vt.; a stepdaughter, Marie Ostoyich of Greenville, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Gallant of Englewood, Fla.; and three sisters, Janet Wyley of Laconia, Lorraine McKinney of Manchester and Doris Gefvert of Torrance, Calif. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Pellerin) Gallant, and a son, Daniel Gallant. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, Manchester. Burial will be in Mt.
