Born in Stockbridge, Vt., June 18, 1920, she was the daughter of Henry and Flora (LaCount) Race. She was a long-time resident of Lebanon and White River Junction, Vt., before moving to Portsmouth eight years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in White River Junction and did volunteer work with the Salvation Army in Portsmouth. She was employed by Profile Ski Wear for more than 30 years before her retirement. The widow of Harold "Joe" LaBombard, she is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Richardson of Stratham; and a son, Kenneth LaBombard of Old Saybrook, Conn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Flynn, and two brothers, Wendall Race and John Race. LaBOMBARD - Velma LaBombard, 80, of 20 Islington St., died Dec. 4, 2000. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the family lot in Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph, Vt.
