LaBarre, D.C. EPPING - Wilfred Joseph LaBarre, D.C., 74, of 70 Red Oak Hill Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at his home. He was born April 23, 1926, in Norwich, Conn., the son of the late Wilfred J. and Emma (Fink) LaBarre Sr., and had resided in Epping since the early 1960s. He was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy and attended Aviation Technical School in Putnam, Conn. He was a 1953 graduate of Palmer School of Chiropractic and was licensed to practice in New Hampshire, Oklahoma and South Carolina. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as an aerial gunner specialist. Dr. LaBarre established STRAIGHT Chiropractic Clinic in Hampton. He was a member of the Hampton Lions Club from 1954-1972; was president of the N.H. Cooperative Chiropractic Society in 1968-69; president of the Granite State Chiropractic Society; was a member of the Board of Regents at Sherman College of STRAIGHT Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C.; served as second vice president of the N.H. STRAIGHT Chiropractic Society from 1981-1986 and received the highest award given by Sherman College of STRAIGHT Chiropractic in 1983. He was named Chiropractor of the Year for his expertise in the science of STRAIGHT Chiropractic and for his many years of research in the field. Dr. LaBarre was a member of the board of directors at Pennsylvania STRAIGHT Chiropractic College in 1983. From 1987 until 2000 he lectured to various groups and societies in the United States. He served as the health officer in Epping. The widower of Edwina (Kolacz) LaBarre, his wife of seven years who died in 1983, he is survived by one daughter and her husband, Laura and John Melisi of Somersworth; one son, Gregory LaBarre of Portsmouth and his former wife, Leone LaBarre of Seabrook; and many cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Epping Community Church, Epping.
