Helen Mikulski HAVERHILL, Mass. -- Helen Mikulski, 91, of Boardman St., Haverhill, Mass., died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000 at the Baker-Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill. She was born May 4, 1909 in Nashua, the daughter of the late Guy A. and Amanda (Clark) Smith. Mrs. Mikulski was a resident of Haverhill for seven years, formerly living in Chester and Wilmington, Mass. She was an avid oil painter. She was predeceased by her husband, Antone Mikulski, who died in 1994 and by a son, Douglas W. Hume. Mrs. Mikulski is survived by a son, John M. Hume of Malden, Mass.; a daughter, Helen E. Contant of Merrimack; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Great Hill Cemetery in Chester. Brown III LACONIA -- Charles D. "Danny" Brown III, 49, a former longtime resident of Plaistow, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., the son of Charles D. Brown Jr. and Beatrice (Collins) Brown, and raised in Plaistow. Mr. Brown attended Timberlane Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and worked for several years as a self-employed carpenter. A resident of the Gilford/Laconia area for the past five years, he was also a member of the Happy House Dart Club of Meredith. He also enjoyed motorcycles and playing horseshoes. Other than his parents, Mr. Brown is survived a son, Charles D. Brown IV of Hudson; four daughters, Nicole Brown of Groveland, Mass., Melissa Barnard of Portsmouth, Randi-Lee Saunders of Raymond, and Jessica Knight of Manchester; four sisters, Linda Daggett of Newton, Sharon Turcotte of Kingston, Wanda Leone of Sebastian, Fla., and Laurie Leeman of Danville; a grandmother, Albertine Sargent of Lansing, Tenn.; five grandchildren; a special friend, Janice Stewart of Ashford; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial was in the Plaistow Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Helene W. Calivas DAPHNE, Ala. -- Helene W. Calivas, 51, died Saturday, July 29, 2000 after a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 10, 1949 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Lulu Carabelas Calivas and the late William Calivas. Ms. Calivas attended schools in Brooklyn and then moved to Dover in 1964, graduating from Dover High School in 1968. She attended University of New Hampshire and New England College. She was a buyer for a New York firm. Leaving that firm, she started her own manufacturing business which featured "Touche" jeans. Several years ago, Ms. Calivas moved to Daphne, Ala., were she ran a "headhunting" business. She enjoyed craft making. Ms. Calivas is survived by her mother; one son, Mark W. Calivas; a brother, Chris Calivas; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Interment was at the Memorial Gardens in Fairhope, Ala. Audrey L. Sterner TEWKSBURY, Mass. -- Audrey L. Sterner, 84, of Tewksbury, Mass., and formerly of Lowell, Mass., Exeter and Epping, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000 at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. She was born Nov. 15, 1915 in Epping, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Catherine (Sheehan) Shannon. Mrs. Sterner was a former professional dancer on the RKO Circuit. She was later employed as a mill worker at the Boott Mills in Lowell, and then at the Raytheon Company, Missile Systems Division in South Lowell, where she was employed for 30 years and worked as a group leader until her retirement in 1979. She attended Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. She was the former wife of Merle C. Sterner of Iowa. Mrs. Sterner is survived by a son, Wayne A. Sterner of Tewksbury, as well as nieces and nephews in Epping and Exeter. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Epping. Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping. Dorothea C. Post PLAISTOW -- Dorothea C. Post, 61, of 16 Atkinson Road, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000. Mrs. Post was born in Rotterdam, Holland, was educated there and attended art school. She later became an art teacher in Italy. She came to this country at the age of 25 and worked as a designer in New York fashion houses. She lived in Boxford, Mass. before moving to Plaistow in 1970. In 1970 she and her husband established Stateline Kennel and in 1973, opened Stateline Tack Shop, operating the business until they sold it in 1994. Mrs. Post was an artist who worked in oils, pastels and clay. She also enjoyed drawing. She is survived by her husband, David F. Post; three sons, Eric Post and his wife Karen of Nottingham, Dana Post of Exeter, and Gary Post and his fiancee Melissa of Plaistow; three brothers, Frank Rademaker and Paul Rademaker, both of Florida, and Andrew Rademaker of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara M. Bogrett HAMPTON -- Barbara M. Bogrett, 80, of 98 Exeter Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 13, 1919 in Elizabeth, N.J., the daughter of the late Walter and Eugenia (Heimmel) Bornschein. Mrs. Bogrett resided in Hampton for more than 55 years, coming from Langdon, N.H. She worked at the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce and for the former Withey Press in Seabrook. She is survived by four children, Linda L. Boudreau of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Carol Hughes of Alexandria, Va., James A. Bogrett of Brentwood, and Peter S. Bogrett of Spring Hill, Tenn.; one sister, Dorothy Griffin of Norwalk, Conn.; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and two nieces and a nephew. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Collette Sanborn NEWMARKET -- Collette Sanborn, 33, of Beech Street, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born May 19, 1967 in Laconia, the daughter of Ronald K. and Josette (Larre) Lyon. She was raised in Munsonville and resided in Newmarket for the past 12 years. Mrs. Sanborn graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenville, Mass., and from the University of New Hampshire. She was a member and current president of the Newmarket PTA and was Chairman of the Board of Linked Together. She also volunteered in the Newmarket Elementary School library and was a substitute teacher at the school. She was a den leader for the Cub Scouts and was currently employed as a caregiver at Sanborn Day Care in Epping. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Charles Richard Sanborn of Newmarket; a son, Jared Michael Rowell of Newmarket; a daughter, Kaylee Alison Rowell of Newmarket; three brothers, Matthew Lyon and his wife Stephanie of Louisville, Colo., Michael Lyon and his wife Lee of Middleton, Idaho, and Mark Lyon and his wife Katie of South Lake Tahoe, Calif; godparents, Duke and Lillian Gee of Kansas City, Kan.; six nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 11, at 9:30 a.m. in Prospect Cemetery, Epping, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Hampton, with Rev. Arrangements are by the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, Newmarket. Beatrice L. Bruce BRENTWOOD -- Beatrice L. Bruce, 94, of Middle Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Penacook Place in Haverhill, Mass. SHE WAS BORN NOV. 7, 1905 IN LEWISTON, MAINE, THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE ARTHUR G. AND MAUDE L. (UPHAM) RANDALL. Mrs. Bruce grew up in Lynn, Mass. and had resided in Brentwood from 1959 to 2000. She was a former employee of both General Electric and Lydia-Pinkham in Lynn, Mass. Mrs. Bruce was a member of the Brentwood Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace Bruce, who died in 1971. She is survived by one niece, Marjorie Snow of Peabody, Mass.; one nephew, Raymond Klinger of Ipswich, Mass; several cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, Mass. If desired, flowers are acceptable. Germaine Elizabeth Gagne EXETER -- Germaine Elizabeth Gagne, 78, of Norrisbrook Condos, Exeter, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000. She was born Jan. 6, 1922 in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Poirier) Richard. Mrs. Gagne was predeceased by her husband, William Gagne, who died in 1989; a daughter, Susan Florentino in 1992; and by three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth "Lee" Lamond of Exeter, Anne B. Fauci and her husband John of Topsfield, Mass., and Mary McKendry of Haverhill, Mass.; one son, William Gagne of N. Reading, Mass; one son-in-law, Christopher B. Florentino of Norwich, Conn; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Marshall E. Kulberg HAMPTON -- Marshall E. Kulberg, 80, of 173 Winnacunnet Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000 at the Seacoast Health Center Inc. He was born Dec. 10, 1919 in Beverly, Mass., the son of the late August E. and Judith (Johansen) Kulberg. Mr. Kulberg graduated from Beverly High School and received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He lived in Massachusetts for many years before moving to Hampton 31 years ago. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kulberg worked for GTE Sylvania in Exeter as a design and sales engineer, later working for Merrimack Industrial Sales Company. After his retirement, he volunteered at the Lane Memorial Library in Hampton and enjoyed reading to patients in area nursing homes. Mr. Kulberg was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton, a member of Toast Masters International of Portsmouth and Exeter. He enjoyed bicycling, canoeing and classical music, his favorite composer being Bach. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth H. (Killam) Kulberg; three sons, A. Peter Kulberg of Lenox, Mass., John M. Kulberg of Hampton and Karl P. Kulberg of North Hampton; one daughter, Kristina Kulberg of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Ralph Kulberg of Boca Raton, Fla., Kenneth Kulberg of St. Germain, Wis., and Gordon Kulberg of Bangor, Maine; one sister, Ann Carlson of Duluth, Minn; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Irene Gagnon BRENTWOOD -- Mary Elizabeth Irene Gagnon died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 1996. She was born in 1919, the daughter of the late Edward Anselme and the late Elizabeth (Fortin) Gagnon. Miss Gagnon was a longtime resident of Marblehead, Mass, graduating from high school in 1937. Following graduation from the Salem Normal School in 1941, she taught for a few years in Vermont, and in 1951 received her masters degree from Boston University. She taught school in the Beverly, Mass. schools for many years, retiring to Gulfport, Fla. in 1976. Her career in education included a 1959-1960 stint at the American Army Base School in Okinawa. For many years she maintained a summer home in Hampton Beach which became her permanent residence in 1992. Miss Gagnon was predeceased by her siblings, Roland, Grace, Romeo, John, Raymond, Mrs. Ida Jalbert, Mrs. Albertine Belanger; a niece, Catherine Gagnon and a nephew, Donald Pepper. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Flora Pepper of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister in law, Olive Gagnon of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephews; and several grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem, Mass.
