Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Alfred J. Bergeron UNITY, Maine -- Alfred J. Bergeron, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at his home. He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Rollinsford, the son of the late Edward and Aderilda (Cayer) Bergeron. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Bergeron was a machinist for USM Bailey Corp., working at the former Amesbury, Mass., and Seabrook plants. He was also a former police officer in Amesbury. The widower of Gertrude (Osgood) Bergeron, who died in 1992, he is survived by two sons, Albert Bergeron of Hampstead and Richard Bergeron of Sandown; two daughters, Linda Skovron of Amesbury and Nadine April of Raymond; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Bergeron of Florida and George Bergeron of Amesbury; and one sister, Elaine Theberge of Amesbury. Funeral services were held Monday in the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, Amesbury. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Diane L. Cavallaro FREMONT -- Diane L. Cavallaro, 48, of Whitman Drive, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 18, 1951, in Torrance, Calif., the daughter of Frederick and Marguerite (Valentine ) Swanson of Bridgewater, Mass. She was raised in Brockton, Mass., and had resided in Fremont for the last 13 years. She was a graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Cavallaro was dedicated to her family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, John J. Cavallaro of Fremont; two daughters, Tara Cavallaro and Anna Cavallaro, both of Fremont; two sisters, Donna Swanson of Bridgewater and Pamela Dole of Norton, Mass.; one brother, Mark Swanson of Lakeville, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Prayer Service was held Tuesday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Finan PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Barbara Hammond Finan, 63, of Long Meadow Court, died July 25, 2000, at Riverview Assisted Living Facility. She was born in Portsmouth the daughter of Lewis and Marion (Noyes) Hammond. She moved to Port Orange in 1987 from Stratham. Mrs. Finan was a retired employee of Heritage Bank, Daytona Beach, Fla. She is survived by two sons, Calvin Emery of Natick, Mass., and Bruce Emery of San Antonio, Tex.; two stepdaughters, Gaye Tarallo of North Easton, Mass., and April Fay of Bow; one stepson, Mark Finan of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Crow of Stratham; one brother, Stephen Hammond of Hampton; one stepbrother, Roger Hammond of Dunedin, Fla.; one aunt, Edith Hammond of Raymond; her companion, Frank Walpole of Port Orange; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Blenda Hammond; and one stepson, Guy Finan. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, at 4 p.m. in Maple Lane Cemetery, Stratham, with the Rev. Walter Johnston officiating. Arrangements are by the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange. Seth D. Hansen CANDIA -- Seth Daniel Hansen, 16, of High Street, formerly of Raymond, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1983, in Manchester. He attended school in Raymond before transferring to Seacoast Collaborative in Kingston in 1999. Seth was employed at Burger King in Hooksett and had formerly been employed at Wendy's in Hooksett. He enjoyed skate boarding and freestyle biking and had played youth football in Hooksett. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Claudette (Labonte) and Trent Porter of Raymond; his father and stepmother, Gordon "Skip" and Lil Hansen of Candia; seven brothers, Eric Hansen of Epping, Skip Hansen of Newmarket, Luke Hansen, Trent Porter Jr., Bernard Porter and Brandon Porter, all of Raymond, and Brian McInnis of Goffstown; five sisters, Michelle Sturgis of Raymond, Angela Porter of Sanford, Maine, Jeana Porter and Sarah Jennings, both of Raymond, and Rachael Hanson of Manchester; three stepsisters, Stacie B. Mimeault of Springfield, Mass., Tracie L. Carrier of Enfield, Conn., and Malissa J. Small of Massachusetts; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Winnona Labonte of Manchester; his step grandparents, Bernard and Elsie Porter of Raymond; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by one brother, Jason Porter of Raymond, who died April 11; and his paternal grandparents, Roger and Lorraine Hansen of Danvers, Mass. Allegra Nelson Davidson Shepard, 90, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, after surviving several strokes. She was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Phillips, Maine, the daughter of Olaf M. and Susie May (Davenport) Nelson. She was raised in Berlin and had resided in Exeter before moving to Raymond six years ago. She was a 1927 graduate of Berlin High School and a 1929 graduate of Farmington Normal School. Mrs. Shepard taught school for several years in Maine and ran a private kindergarten for five years in Berlin. She worked at Ware Knitters in Berlin for 20 years and went back to teaching Headstart in Berlin and then in North Stratford for five years, retiring in 1975. She was married to Leon M. Davidson in 1931, divorcing after 16 years of marriage. The widow of Roy E. Shepard, her husband of 10 years who died in 1964, she is survived by two daughters, Louise Davidson Redgate, with whom she made her home, and Dorothy Davidson Stone, both of Raymond; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 12 in the Brewitt Funeral Home,Raymond. Sweetland Jr. LYNN, Mass. -- John M. Sweetland Jr., 71, of Leighton Street, died July 18, 2000, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Worcester, Mass., the son of the late John M. and Genevieve (Scanlon) Sweetland Sr. and resided in Lynn for most of his life. Mr. Sweetland was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the medical department. He is survived by one brother, Vincent G. Sweetland of Kingston; two nephews; two grand nieces; and several cousins. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston. Elaine T. Therrien KINGSTON -- Elaine T. (McCarthy) Therrien, 71, of 4 Page Road, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in Exeter Hospital after an extended illness. She was born April 6, 1929, in Chelsea, Mass., the daughter of the late George E. and Julia A. (Clarke) McCarthy. Mrs. Therrien was employed in the purchasing department of Process Engineering of Plaistow retiring in 1984. She had previously worked for Bernstein Electric of Chelsea for many years. She attended Holy Angels Church in Plaistow. She was an avid fan of ballroom dancing, having won many dance contests at area ballrooms. She enjoyed all things associated with being Irish. The widow of Arthur R. Therrien, who died in 1991, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Frank J. and Michele DiChiara of Merrimack and Walter J. and Sharon Glowacki of Kingston; one daughter, Bernadine M. DiChiara of Swampscott, Mass.; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston.
