Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Ruth E. Murray HAVERHILL, Mass. -- Ruth E. (Gowell) Warren Murray, 90, of 327 Main St., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, in Hale Hospital. She was born June 5, 1910, in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert and Lily (Sweetland) Gowell. She moved to East Hampstead in 1966 moving to Haverhill in 1996. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Mrs. Murray was a stitcher in Lynn and Lawrence, Mass., shoe industries and had also been a nurse's aide at Lynn Hospital. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Gautreau Post, American Legion in Lynn. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, knitting and bingo. She is survived by two sons and their wives, James L. and Dorothy Warren of Derry and Robert and Diane Warren of East Hampstead; two daughters, Eleanor Harrington of Winthrop, Maine, and Arlene M. Allen and her husband Robert of Bradneton, Fla.; three stepsons and their wives, Arthur and Mary Ann Murray of Lynn, Donald and Carol Murray of Tewksbury, Mass., and David and Caroline Murray of Goffstown; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Gowell of Lee; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alton Warren, who died in 1965, and her second husband, Harold Murray, who died in 1997. Funeral services were held Monday in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, Haverhill. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Carrie H. Wason RAYMOND -- Carrie H. Wason, 89, formerly of Main Street, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Exeter Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Amherst, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Towle) Hilliard. Mrs. Wason was a resident of Rockingham County Nursing Home where she was involved in many activities. The widow of Luther Wason, she is survived by three sons, Luther M. Wason of Raymond, Keith "Pete" Philbricks of Kingston and Sidney "Nick" Wason of Raymond; one daughter, Nancy Cressey of Arizona; 46 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sons, Douglas Philbricks and Warren Wright. Graveside services were held Tuesday in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Arrangements were by the Maiden-Petrin Funeral Home, Candia.
