Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Chester Cebula WILBRAHAM, Mass. -- Chester Cebula, 77, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, in Mercy Hospital. He was born in Chicopee, Mass., and was a lifelong resident of Wilbraham. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Cebula was an industrial toolmaker at Spalding in Chicopee for more than 30 years. After his retirement he owned and operated a Christmas tree farm for 15 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Indian Orchard, Mass., and the Polish-American Veterans Club in Wilbraham. He worked at the Eastern States Exposition and was an avid horticulturist and a sports enthusiast. The widower of Rose (Devanski) Cebula, who died in 1998, he is survived by three sons, Thomas Cebula of Wilbraham, Gary Cebula of East Hampstead and Richard Cebula of Hopkinton, Mass.; five grandsons; and two sisters, Adele Kempesty of Three Rivers, Mass., and Janice Dole of Springfield, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Mt. Royal Ave., Marlborough, MA 01752. Henry V. Crosby Sr. EAST KINGSTON -- Henry V. Crosby Sr., 87, formerly of Stage Coach Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Exeter Healthcare where he had resided for the past three years. He was born Aug. 18, 1913, in Boston, the son of the late Frank and Judith Ella (Follansbee) (Morrill) Crosby. He resided in South Hampton for 32 years and in East Kingston for 52 years. He was a graduate of Amesbury (Mass.) High School. Mr. Crosby worked at The Leather Board, Amesbury; Sylvania in Ipswich, Mass.; Park and Pollard Feed Store in Amesbury; Henchel in Amesbury and fabrication shops in Amesbury, Newburyport, and Haverhill, Mass. He began his painting career at Henchel during World War II. He attended the East Kingston United Methodist Church. He was a member of the South Hampton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Fidelity Grange, South Hampton, for more than 60 years. His hobby was farming. The widower of Grace B. (Jordan) Crosby, who died in 1996, he is survived by two sons, Henry V. Crosby Jr. of Exeter and Edwin F. Crosby of East Kingston; two daughters, Alfreda G. Gallo of Dalatka, Fla., and Ruth E. Swinerton of Kingston; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Crosby. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in East Kingston United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, South Road, East Kingston. Grant EAST HAMPSTEAD -- Daniel J. Grant, 74, of 43 Pilgrim Circle, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at his daughter's home in Woburn, Mass. He was born July 11, 1926, in Somerville, Mass. He resided in Woburn, Mass., for 35 years before moving to East Hampstead. He attended Somerville High School where he was captain of the varsity football team and was a member of the varsity baseball team. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Grant was a member of Long Island Baptist Church, Hampstead, and was a member of Grace Chapel in Lexington, Mass. The widower of Beatrice L. (Hudson) Grant, who died in 1999, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Ronald C. and Linda Grant of East Hampstead and Daniel R. and Julie Grant of Beverly, Mass.; two daughters and their husbands, Judy A. and Edmund McGrath of Woburn and Sheree and Larry DeLorenzo of Beverly; nine grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Grant of Sioux City, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Grant. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Jacqueline H. McLean EAST HAMPSTEAD -- Jacqueline H. "Jacqui" (Tremblay) McLean, 66, of Hunt Road, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at her daughter's home in Londonderry, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 17, 1934, in Salem, Mass., and was raised in Lynn, Mass. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and attended Merrimack College, No. Andover, Mass., where she earned her teacher's aid certification. Ms. McLean was a bus driver for the Seacoast Learning Collaborative and had also worked as a special education teacher at Windham Central School and Hampstead Central School. She had previously worked at Hampstead Hospital for several years and was a floral designer and operated Jacqui's Hay Loft in East Hampstead. She was an accomplished artist and worked in oils and ceramics. She enjoyed animals and was an avid writer and reader. She volunteered her time at local nursing homes and area parties entertaining as a clown. She is survived by two sons, Michael McLean of Raymond and Kevin McLean of Sandown; two daughters and their husbands, Robyn and Wally Haggett of East Hampstead and Julie and Matthew Barry of Londonderry; her mother, Audrey (Brewer) Tremblay of Lynn; seven grandchildren; her former husband, Gordon M. McLean of Londonderry; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Runcie, who died in 1993. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday in St. Anne Church, Hampstead. Burial was in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow. Arrangements were by the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, Plaistow. Melissa A. Robinson MANCHESTER -- Melissa A. Robinson, 36, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Lahey-Hitchcock Clinic, Burlington, Mass., following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 8, 1964, in Manchester, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Gott) Baldwin of Ocala Fla. She had resided in Raymond for 11 years before recently moving back to Manchester. She was a 1982 graduate of Timberlane High School, Plaistow. Mrs. Robinson was employed by Allen Bradley Co., of Manchester. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three daughters, Vanessa Sue Robinson, Vicki Marie Robinson and Lyndsae Anne Robinson, all of Raymond; the father of her children, Martin K. Robinson of Raymond; her fiancé, Scott Buchanan of Manchester; one sister, Michelle Bell of Steubenville, Ohio; two brothers, Anthony Baldwin of Hartford, Conn., and William Baldwin of Atkinson; her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Alice Gott of Chester; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Sept. 16 in the Peabody Funeral Home, Sandown. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Schoonover, 73, of Tamarack Lane, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2000, in Elliot Hospital, Manchester. He was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Nampa, Idaho, the son of the late Clyde and Doris (Hughes) Schoonover, and had resided in Raymond for the past 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Schoonover was a sales executive for the Gillette Corporation, a career that led him to reside in several cities including Salt Lake City, Utah, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and Boston. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Epping. He enjoyed boating and was known for his steamboat, the "Cow Island Belle," which he used on Lake Winnipesaukee. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara (Stanbro) Schoonover of Raymond; three sons, Michael Schoonover of Asheville, N.C., Timothy Schoonover of Clarksville, Tenn., and Philip Schoonover of Eden Prairie, Minn.; two daughters, Chrisanne Ferry of Lebanon, Tenn., and Angela Helmstetter of Brentwood, England; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, James Schoonover of Pocatello, Idaho; one sister, Arene Wood of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater N.H.
