Desruisseaux, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at a Manchester nursing home after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Manchester, the son of Nestor and Philomene (Dubois) Desruisseaux and had been a lifelong resident of Manchester. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the recipient of the Bonze Star for heroic action in connection with a military operation in Germany and was also a participant in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Desruisseaux was a truck driver for Quinn Transportation and Auclair Transportation before his retirement. He was a member of the Chauffeur's Teamsters & Helpers Local Union 633 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8214. He is survived by his wife, Vera (Huggins) Desruisseaux of Manchester; three daughters, Elaine Pratt of Ringe, Irene Graveline of Manchester and Rose Aired of Raymond; two sons, George Desruisseaux of Honolulu, Hawaii, and David Desruisseaux of Concord; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday in Sacred Heart Church, Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were by the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, Manchester. Gladys E. Leclerc NEWBURYPORT, Mass. -- Gladys E. Leclerc, 82, formerly of Raymond, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Port Healthcare, Newburyport. She was born May 25, 1918, in Byfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Lord) Allard. She resided in Salisbury, Mass., for many years, moving to Raymond in 1978. She was a 1937 graduate of Amesbury (Mass.) High School. Mrs. Leclerc worked for the former Welpro Shoe Co., the Bailey Corp. in Seabrook, and at Hytron Industries in Newburyport during World War II. She was a member of Exeter United Methodist Church; Jo Bridges Line Dancers; the United Methodist Women's Association; and the Ray Scwatzer Card Club in Hampton. She enjoyed bowling. She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Linda C. and Richard Wessant of Salisbury, Mass.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Clarence Allard of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton. Sarah C. MacDonald EDGEWATER, Fla. -- Sarah C. "Sallie" MacDonald, 68, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at her home after a gracious fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born June 19, 1932, in Rahway, N.J., the daughter of the late Stewart and Marjorie B. Crowell. She had resided in New Jersey, Massachusetts and New Hampshire before retiring to Florida in 1995. Mrs. MacDonald was a member of Holy Communion Episcopal Church in New Hampshire and attended St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., serving on the Altar Guild of both churches. She was a member of the Christian Women of New Smyrna Beach. She had an avid interest in antiques, enjoyed the beach, playing scrabble and reading. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Milton A. "Mac" MacDonald; three daughters and their husbands, Hollie Jane and Jim McPartland of Houlton, Maine, Darnell and Gary Irvine of Newcastle, Pa., and Gail A. and David Pitts of Raymond; one son and his wife, Bradford and Heather MacDonald of Milton; four grandchildren; one brother, David Crowell of New Bern, N.C.; and one sister, Claire Clayton of Eatontown, N.J. She was predeceased by one brother, Steven Crowell. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Liebler officiating. A memorial service in New Hampshire will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Dorothy V.C. Wood EAST KINGSTON -- Dorothy V.C. (Smith) Wood, 92, of 5 Rowell Cove Road, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Dover Rehabilitation Center, Dover. She was born in Plainfield, N.J. She resided in Brickton, N.J. for most of her life, and had resided in East Kingston since 1995. She attended local schools and graduated from Plainfield High School. Mrs. Wood was a legal secretary for several law firms and also operated Maydor Doll Hospital, an antique doll hospital. She volunteered as a gray lady at the Veteran's Administration Hospital near her home and also collected antique dolls. She was a member of the Brettonwoods Property Owner's Association. The widow of Russell Wood, she is survived by one daughter and her husband, Jane and William Query of Plaistow; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Arrington of California; and several nieces and nephews. Private services were held at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Burial was in Alpine Cemetery, Somerville, N.J.
