Permission received to include in the USGenWeb Archives. Charles E. Bowman RAYMOND -- Charles E. "Jack" Bowman, 77, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home of kidney failure and emphysema. He was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Delmar and Gertrude (Baron) Bowman and had resided in Raymond since 1962. Mr. Bowman served with the U.S. Coast Guard for 23 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a paratrooper in Europe with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anne C. (Grimes) Bowman of Raymond; one son, Terry A. Bowman of Stratham; and one granddaughter. He was predeceased by one son, Dell Bowman, and one daughter, Cathren A. Bowman. There are no calling hours. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Raymond Congregational Church with the Rev. Neil Iverson officiating. After cremation, burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockingham Visiting Nurses Association & Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Service & Crematory, Raymond. Rhonda J. Furtado CHESTER -- Rhonda J. Furtado, 46, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Belmont, Maine, the daughter of the late Berlin R. and June H. (Merrill) Philbrook. She resided in Lowell, Mass. for many years and in Chester for the last 12 years. Mrs. Furtado was a manager at First Eastern Mortgage Co., Andover, Mass. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, painting and gardening. She is survived by her husband, John A. Furtado of Chester; one son, Anthony Furtado of Chester; two daughters, Margie Furtado of Derry and Shelly Furtado of Chester; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Berlin Philbrook and Michael Philbrook, both of Florida, and Russell Philbrook of Derry; four sisters, Verna Hodges of Webster, Mass., Nancy Harvey of Belfast, Maine, Judith Daggett of Stonington, Maine, and JoAnne Hryzan of Deerfield; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in St. Jerome Church, Chester. Burial was in Great Hill Cemetery, Chester.
