Galvin EXETER -- Roswell "Ross" Park Galvin, 93, formerly of 277 Water St., died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood. He was born Oct. 22, 1907, in Everett, Mass., the son of the late Joseph and Rena (Carpenter) Galvin. He resided in Hampton before moving to Exeter. He was educated in Londonderry schools and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. Mr. Galvin was a salesman for North Hampton Supply Co. before opening Atlantic Supply Plumbing & Heating Co. of North Hampton. He was vice president of Webb, Inc. of Portsmouth and before retiring in 1979 he was a salesman for Heating Specialties Co. of Nashua. He was honored as outstanding salesman at Harvard Brewing Co. of Boston in 1932. He was active with the Lions Club of Hampton and served as King Lion in 1966-67 and served as the exalted ruler of the North Hampton Lodge of Elks. The widower of Winifred M. (Connolly) Galvin, he is survived by one son, Roswell Galvin Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY.; one daughter and her husband, Noreen and William Johnson of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Irving Galvin of Miami; two daughters-in-law, Theresa Galvin of Bayonette, Fla., and Nell Galvin of Hopkinsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, John Galvin, who died in 1997, and Walter Galvin, who died in 1999; three sisters; and two brothers. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front Street, Exeter. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, North Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter. Beatrice A. Leathe ATKINSON -- Beatrice A. (Lane) Leathe, 98, formerly of 56 Sawyer Ave., died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., where she had been visiting for the past several months. She was born in Wellesley, Mass., and had lived in the Malden/Melrose, Mass., area for many years. She was a longtime resident of East Hampstead before moving to Atkinson six years ago. Mrs. Leathe was an accountant for the General Electric Co., retiring in 1970 after 40 years of service. The was the oldest member of The Union Church of East Hampstead and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Sandown Grange. The widow of Fred W. Leathe, who died in 1977, she is survived by two daughters, Hazel Glennon of Lake Panasoffkee and Marion Leathe of Atkinson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Route 121A, Plaistow. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Union Church of East Hampstead, Route 121A, East Hampstead. Burial will be in West Hampstead Cemetery. Agnes Holland DOVER -- Agnes Jean McKenna (Smith) Holland, 82, of 31 Deerfield Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000. She was born March 15, 1918, in St. John, New Brunswick, the daughter of Patrick, J. and Susan (Coyle) McKenna. Mrs. Holland received her registered nurse certificate from St. Mary's Hospital, Montreal. She is survived by her husband, Robert T. Holland of Dover; six children, Kathleen Hunt of Hampstead, Susan Crowley of Oxnard, Calif., T. Gregory Smith of Dover, Jean Kelley of Abington, Mass., Liane Smith of Dover, and Kevin M. Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Cleo Denison of St. Lambert, Que., and Joyce Kennedy of Regina, Saskatchewan. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave., Dover. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.H. Clement PLAISTOW -- John Blair Clement, 72, of 79 Kingston Road, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Manchester, the son of the late Henry and Alice Clement. He was raised in Epping and resided in Lynn, Mass., before returning to Epping where he resided for many years. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Clement was the superintendent of cemeteries for the Archdiocese of Boston retiring after 32 years of service. He was a member and former chancellor of the Knights of Pythias in Lynn. He is survived by two brothers, Henry Clement and Raymond Clement, both of Lynn; two sisters, Dorothy Wood of California and Violet Murphy of Washington; many nieces and nephews; and two friends, Wilbur L. Furbish and Ralph D. Brewster. He was predeceased by two brothers, Earnest Clement and Edward Clement; and one sister, Alice MacDonald. A Spiritual Mass will be celebrated in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Phaneuf Funeral Home, Manchester. Colette M. Lavertu FREMONT -- Colette M. (Girard) Lavertu, 49, of Rowe Drive, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Manchester, the daughter of Arthur L. and Simone E. (Fremeau) Girard. She was raised in Allenstown and lived most of her life Raymond and Allenstown before moving to Fremont two years ago. She was a 1968 graduate of Bishop Brady High School, Concord, and received her degree in education from Notre Dame College, Manchester. Mrs. Lavertu had been a teacher for 28 years, and was a 5th grade teacher at Iber Holmes Gove Middle School, Raymond. She had previously taught in the Allenstown school district. She was a dedicated classroom teacher and also devoted evenings and summers to tutoring sessions. She enjoyed skiing, hiking and in-line skating. She is survived by one daughter, Amy Lavertu of Manchester; one son, Dennis L. Lavertu Jr. of Fremont; her companion, Jack Mullen of Fremont; one sister, Yvette Lascelle of Allenstown; three brothers, Richard Girard of Raymond, Denis Girard of Simsbury, Conn., and Roland Girard of Bow; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, Allenstown, with the Very Rev. C. Peter Dumont, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Allenstown, at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Colette M. Boetti FREMONT -- Ernest F. Boetti, 67, of 85 Riverside Drive, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Exeter Hospital. He was born July 9, 1933, the son of Doris (Mears) Fortuna of Brentwood and the late Ernest F. Boetti. He was raised in Merrimac, Mass., and resided in Fremont for 25 years. He was a 1952 graduate of Merrimac High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Boetti was employed by Bell Labs in North Andover, Mass., (now Lucent Technologies) for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brentwood, where he was a soloist and a member of the choir; a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; and a member and past master of Gideon Lodge No. 84, F.&A.M. of Kingston. He was a former member of the John Greenleaf Whittier Chapter, Order of DeMolay, in Haverhill, Mass. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Mainiero of Hampton; two sons, Charles Boetti of Concord and Philip Boetti of Hampton; three grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Huddleston of Newton; one brother, Bruce Boetti; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grandson, Christopher Green, who died in 1999. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
