Cameron MANCHESTER - The Rev. Albert S. Cameron, 75, died on Jan. 3, 2001, at the Bishop Peterson Home in Manchester. Born Feb. 18, 1925, in Nashua, he was the son of Albert and Bernetta (Morris) Cameron. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 15, 1957. His studies for the priesthood were interrupted by military service during World War II. He served as a pilot in the Air Force from May 1943 to February 1946, attaining the rank of colonel. He graduated form St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, Conn. in June 1952, and from St. Paul Seminary, Ottawa, in June 1956. He was appointed assistant pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln in 1957. He was appointed assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Hampton later that year. He also was appointed to the teaching staff of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover and served the St. Catherine Parish in Portsmouth as a part-time assistant pastor. During 1962 and 1963, he pursued graduate studies at Boston University, Rivier College and the University of New Hampshire. He was assigned to St. Patrick Parish in Nashua as a temporary assistant pastor while attending Rivier. In 1964, he was appointed to the teaching staff at Bishop Bradley High School and served as assistant pastor at St. Catherine Parish in Manchester and St. Christopher Parish in Nashua. He also served as chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol. In November 1971, he was appointed pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Groveton. He stayed until 1973. He served as chaplain of St. Anne Home in Dover prior to his retirement. He is survived by brother, Frederick Cameron.
