Betty R. Tufts 

CONCORD - Betty R. Tufts, 90, formerly of Manchester, died on Jan. 31, 2001, 
at a Concord nursing home. 

She was born June 13, 1910 in Salem, Mass., the daughter of Oliver A. and 
Grace Oldson Tufts, and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy and the 
University of New Hampshire, class of 1931. She received her master’s degree 
from Boston University in 1941. Miss Tufts was a retired elementary school 
teacher, having taught for 20 years in New Canaan, Conn. She had lived in 
Wells, Maine before moving to Manchester in 1976. She had been a Concord 
resident for more than 13 years. The family includes a cousin in California.
