Hartlen COLEBROOK - Evelyn G. (Brown) Hartlen, 78, of 30 Monadnock Village, Colebrook and formerly of North Stratford, died suddenly on Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mrs. Hartlen was born on April 3, 1922, in Columbia. She was a homemaker and a member of T.O.P.S. She loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed driving. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Honey. Mrs. Hartlen is survived by the following family members: a son, Donald Hartlen of Groveton; six daughters, Reona Hartlen, Patricia Clark, Juanita Eastman and Debbie Bickford, all of Colebrook, Judy Reynolds of Canaan, Vt. and Michelle Plourde of West Stewartstown; a brother, Theodore Estes of Bloomfield, Vt.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Kelsea Hartlen, died on Feb. 21, 1991. Calling hours will be held today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook at 2 p.m. The Rev. Kathryn McGregor will officiate. Interment services will be held in the spring at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
