He passed away while on vacation in Winter Garden, Fla. He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Massachusetts. After serving in the Navy, he worked for several electronic and computer companies in Massachusetts. He retired from Hewlett Packard Computer Co. in Exeter, N.H., as a plant manager in 1993, and moved to Pilot Mountain. He was a member of the Good Shephard Catholic Church in King, and at the time of his death was the grand knight of the Knights of Columbus in King. He is survived by his wife, Marion (Hallgren); a brother, Lloyd Farren of Whitefield, N.H.; a daughter, Doreen Massengale of Mauldin, S.C.; a son, David of Greenville, S.C.; stepsons, David Carroll of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Damon Carroll of Davie, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Donald. He lived the Serenity prayer for the last 35 years of his life. They say if you have one true friend at the time of death, your life was a success. The many friends he had through life are evidence that his life is complete.
