Phillips III HAMPTON BEACH - James E. "Buddy" Phillips III, 58, of 20 Kentville Terrace, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Exeter Hospital. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., on July 11, 1942, the son of the late James E. and Grace M. (Walton) Phillips Jr. Raised in Quincy, Mass., he attended Boston College High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked in management for Bell Atlantic for 32 years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he enjoyed doing odd jobs as a handyman in construction. He resided in Brockton, Mass., from 1967 to 1997 and started spending his summers in Hampton Beach in 1983. After his retirement, he wintered in Indian Harbor Beach, Fla. While living in Brockton, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Lords and currently was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal parish. He was an avid golfer. He was the husband of Dorothy Y. (Belanger) Phillips for 36 years. In addition to his wife, family members include one son, James E. Phillips IV, and his wife, Suzanne, of Taunton, Mass.; one sister, Barbara Jean Coughlin, and her husband, Paul, of Norwood, Mass.; nieces, nephews and cousins. PHILLIPS - James E. "Buddy" Phillips III, 58, of 20 Kentville Terrace, Hampton Beach, died Jan. 8, 2001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal church, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Remick & Gordon Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. If desired, donations may be made to the Seacoast Visiting Nurse Association, 29 Lafayette Road, North Hampton, NH 03862. James. E. Phillips III HAMPTON - The funeral for James. E. Phillips III, 58, of 20 Kentville Terrace was held Thursday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. The Rev. George E. Ham, pastor, was celebrant. Nelson K. Ward was organist and Patrice Chaisson was soloist. Altar servers were George Brown, Bernard Arguin and Andrew Bobolas. The pall was placed over the casket by Mr. Phillips' son, James E. Phillips IV. Michele Smith, Suzanne Phillips and Lesley Bobolas offered readings. Betty Smith and Tara Olson presented the gifts to the altar. Mr. Phillips' sister, Barbara Coughlin, and his son Jim offered words of remembrance. Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery with the rite of committal conducted by Father Ham.
