MacLeod HAMPTON - Katherine A. MacLeod, 86, of 777 Lafayette Road, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her residence at the Partridge House. Born in Inverness, (Cape Breton) Nova Scotia, Canada, March 7, 1914, she was the youngest daughter of Alexander and Margaret (Gillis) MacDougall. Her deceased sisters and brothers include Mary Ann, Mary Sarah, Colin, Angus and Alexander. She had on living stepsister, Ann MacDougall of Nova Scotia. She immigrated to Boston in 1930 and married John MacLeod in 1933. They were married for 51 years, having lived in Dorchester, Natick and Newton, Mass. They moved to New Hampshire in 1974 after John retired from the Boston Globe. He passed away in 1984. The couple had seven children. Surviving sons and daughters include John A. MacLeod of Apple Valley, Minn., William C. MacLeod of Naperville, Ill., Miriam Winston of Boston, Margaret Henry of Minagra, Nicaragua, Mary Helen Corcoran of Hampton, and Bonnie Jean MacLeod of Lonetree, Colo. A daughter, Sheila, died shortly after birth in 1942. Also surviving are 17 loving grandchildren, Tracie, Jeanette, John, Michael, David, Theodore, Alex, Jennifer, Angus, Teryl Lee, William, Christopher, Katherine, Ellen, Molly, Heather and Jason; 20 great-grandchildren; and very close nephews and nieces including Tom Chamberlain of Saugus, Mass., Alexander and Hugh MacDougall of Nova Scotia; Yvonne King of Derry, Sandra Harquail of New Brunswick, and Colina LeBlanc of Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by two fine sons-in-law, Maynard Winston of Boston, and Paul Corcoran of Hampton. She was considered a consultant in family studies with an honorary degree from the University of Cape Breton at Inverness, Nova Scotia. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, neighbor and caring friend to all. MacLEOD - Katherine A. MacLeod, of 777 Lafayette Road, Hampton, died Jan. 18, 2001. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Giving Tree Foundation, P.O. Box 81273, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. Katherine A. MacLeod HAMPTON - The funeral for Katherine A. MacLeod, 86, of 777 Lafayette Road, Hampton, was held Monday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. The Rev. George E. Ham, pastor, was the celebrant. Nelson K. Ward was organist and Patricia Mackensen was soloist. Catherine Harake and Angus MacLeod offered the readings. Richard and Tracie Sullivan presented the gifts at the altar. William C. MacLeod offered words of remembrance. Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Fr. Ham. Pallbearers were Jason Cordon, Thomas Chamberlain, Angus MacLeod and Alex Winston.
