Hoyt Kane FARMINGTON, Maine - Lilia E. Hoyt Kane, 73, of Middle Street, died Friday morning, Jan. 12, 2001, at her home. Born in Eliot on June 22, 1927, she was the daughter of John S. and Helen (Dana) Hoyt. She received her education in Eliot schools and graduated from Eliot High School in 1944. She worked as a bookkeeper for William E. Dennet for 25 years and later worked in the bookkeeping department at G.H. Bass in Wilton and Farmington Shoe Co. She assisted the Franklin County commissioners with the CETA program and had worked at LaVerdiere's Drug Store in Farmington, where she retired in 1991. She was past president of the Eliot Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and she enjoyed spending time with her family as well as playing cards, crocheting, and knitting. She also was fond of Peppermint Patties. She is survived by her three children, Sandra "Sandy" Hallman of Skowhegan; the Rev. Michele St. Cyr and her husband, Donald, of Wilton; and Michael Kane and his wife, Rhonda, of Industry; her former husband, Fay Kane of Scarborough; four sisters, Hazel Barker of Temple; Marjorie Savage and her husband, Clinton, of West Farmington; Myrtle Haney and her husband, Donald, of Farmington; and Eva Say and her husband, Ron, of Hebron, Conn.; four brothers, Dana Hoyt and his wife, Beryl, of Farmington; her twin, Walter Hoyt and his wife, Mildred, of Eliot; William Hoyt and his wife, Lillian, of Temple; and Jack Hoyt and his wife, Sandra, of Temple; her grandchildren, Robin Baumgartel and her husband, Ed, of East Dixfield; Robert Hallman Jr. of New Sharon; Rebecca Hallman of Turner; Ryan Hallman and his wife, Heather, of Avon; and Dana Kane of Industry; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Fitch of Turner; and Haylee and Shantel Hallman, both of Avon; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a baby brother, John; and a sister, Louise Nicholas. KANE - Lilia E. Hoyt Kane, 73, of Middle Street, Farmington, Maine, died Jan. 12, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday from the Trinity United Methodist Church in Farmington. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wiles Funeral Home, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
