Sherry WARWICK, R.I. - Margaret Claire (Conway) Sherry, 87, of 272 Sea Meadow Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Cumberland, R.I., the daughter of the late John and Julia (Casey) Conway, and had resided in Portsmouth, R.I. Mrs. Sherry was a secretary for the former Berkshire Hathaway Co. of Manville, R.I., from 1931 until 1940. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church, Portsmouth, and was a member of St. James Church, West Warwick where she was past president of the Mothers Club of the church. She was a volunteer in many school and church activities. The widow of John W. Sherry, she is survived by one son, James T. Sherry of Boulder, Colo.; three daughters, Claire Duva of No. Kingstown, R.I., Ann Warnock of Exeter and Patricia McCarthy of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Conway and Eugene Conway, both of Cumberland, R.I.; three sisters, Rita Moran Byrnes of Cumberland, Mary Hayes of Westwood, Mass., and Barbara Brown of Rutland, VT., She was predeceased by one daughter, Mary M. Dingwell; one brother, John Conway; and one sister, Dorothy Goodier. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday in St. Barnabas Church, Portsmouth. Burial was in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, R.I. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island, 1007 Watermen Ave., East Providence, RI 02914.
