Bigelow GROVETON - Ralph Henry "Red" Bigelow, 73, of Craggy Road, died suddenly on Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster. Born on Aug. 11, 1927 in Danville, Vt., the son of Ralph T. Bigelow and Catherine (Bryer) Bigelow Goodsell, he had been a resident of Groveton since 1943. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion Post #17 of Groveton. Before retirement Mr. Bigelow had been employed by James River Corporation as a paper finisher. He served in the Army in Korea after World War II and before the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bigelow is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene (Paradise) Bigelow of Groveton; three daughters, Linda J. Farrell of Concord; Gloria J. White of Groveton and Betty Ann Wilson of West Canaan, N.H.; one sister, Lillian Bixby of Rumney; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours were held on Monday at Main-Armstrong Funeral Home, Groveton. A funeral service was on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Northumberland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Oncology Department, Weeks Medical Center, 73 Middle Street, Lancaster, NH 03584.
