Hinds Jr. NEW CASTLE - Ray A. Hinds Jr., 70, of 5 Portsmouth Ave., died on Jan. 25, 2001, at his home, after a lengthy illness. Born on July 11, 1930, in Milton, Mass., he was the son of the late Ray and Harriette (Tinker) Hinds. He was formerly of Milton, Mass. "where he graduated from high school" Wellesley, Attenborough, Acton, and Harwich Port, Mass., and Hopkinton, N.H. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1952. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. From 1966 to 1976, he was a manager of nuclear materials at Yankee Atomic Electric Company in Westborough, Mass., and then until 1980 he worked as purchasing manager for New England Electric System, also in Westborough. From 1980 until retirement he was the director of fuel procurement and supply for Public Service of New Hampshire in Manchester. Family members include his wife of 46 years, Joanne E. (Fowle) Hinds; two daughters, Judith E. Mikami, of Newmarket, and Holly E. Robbertz, of Stratham; five grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen L. McGrath, of Avon, Mass. He was predeceased by one son, Daniel A. Hinds, and one brother, Caryl E. Hinds. HINDS - Ray A. Hinds Jr., 70, of 5 Portsmouth Ave., New Castle, died on Jan. 25, 2001. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Christ Episcopal Church, 1035 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth, with a reception to follow at New Castle Congregational Church Parish Hall, 65 Main St., New Castle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chaplains Department, Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114; or to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
